This book is a great short read. It‘s like a movie and the reader is the voyeur who gets to jump into a d out of several entwined stories all based on people coming and going from flights. The characters are great and the stories are just interesting and short enough to hook you before you jump into another.

I just landed in Seattle but before we left the Anchorage airport early this morning I snapped a pic of this awesome service!

LiteraryinLititz That‘s a great idea! 1mo
LiteraryinLititz It would be especially cool if lots of airports had them so you could drop it back off at your destination. 1mo

For a #postapocalyptic novel, the plot of #StationEleven felt fresh. It focused less on the horrors of the new world and more on the beauty, tenderness, and interconnectedness of #humanity. I often considered how I'd feel in similar circumstances (both before and after the Flu). I loved that it was largely set along #LakeMichigan and in an #airport! Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys this genre. #airplanes #pandemic #fiction #fame #survival

A month of challenge reads, some lovely cookbooks and a fabulous reread, on audio (Daisy Jones)
My favorite fiction was Turbulence.. a beautifully written collection of linked vignettes that really spoke to me.
The Art of escapism cooking is a gorgeous memoir/cookbook - my favorite combo!
I realized that space stuff (Descender for #pop19) is not for me, and I‘m just #meh about YA fantasy (Blood and Bone for #booked2019) 🤷‍♀️

BarbaraBB I loved Turbulence too! 1mo

Shining softly and strung together like pearls, twelve brief, interlinked stories connect readers with people across the globe. Clever and humane. #Audiobook narrated by Gabra Zackman.

Each chapter is a separate story but you can see the links between them by looking at the airport codes, starting with LGW–MAD (Gatwick to Madrid) and ending back at Gatwick via Budapest. You can also see how brief this audiobook is: only 2.5 hours long.

This slim book is a collection of linked short stories all somehow related to airline travel. Each story takes its main character from the prior story and follows that person forward, handing the baton through to the end, when we come back around to the beginning. I enjoyed it, though I don‘t think I found it as profound as did the NYT book review podcast.

Have about an hour before my flight to Denver. Been super bush with work and apply to jobs since graduating that I haven‘t had time to really posy on here lately. Hopefully with my trip to Denver for the next 5 days (thanks mom and dad for the graduation present), I‘ll be able to get a lot of reading done and destress!
