This Next New Year | Janet S Wong

This seems like a fitting book for my language practice today. It will be quite a challenge for me, and I'm a bit worried that I found a few typos in the English since I probably won't be able to recognize errors in the Korean yet and might learn mistakes. But language work and tea and a treat (earl grey doughnut mmm) is still this nerd's idea of a great afternoon 😁

Happy lunar new year 🎉

tournevis @ljuliel Thank you! 😘😘😘😘😘 I'm doing ok, but so completely swamped, more than last semester, I don't have any free time. I get up, I work, I cook and clean, I go to bed. I don't see anything letting up for weeks either. Health-wise, I'm ok. 19h
ljuliel Sorry you‘re so busy but I‘m glad you‘re feeling well. 17h

Valentine's Day | Gail Gibbons

I'm in the mood for a holiday-centric reading challenge in February, so I put together a little BINGO sheet! 💖A book can count for more than one prompt!

If you would like to participate in a Feb theme read (so many holidays to choose from: Valentine's Day, Black History Month, & President's Day in the US), I would love for you to join in! Just use #FancifulFebruary and tag me in your posts.

Psst...one of these is also a #booked2020 prompt! 😉

wanderinglynn How fun! Thanks for organizing. This will be a great way for me to organize my February TBR. 😀❤️ 6d
4thhouseontheleft @wanderinglynn Yay! Glad you‘re joining in! 6d

Butterfinger Sure. 😊 6d
Marni I love this! And since my pace this year has been so much faster than previous years I think I can do it! 5d
4thhouseontheleft @Marni You can count a book for more than one prompt, which makes it easier! (edited) 5d
jillrhudy A book NOT read in bed would be harder. I do 99% of my reading in bed 5d
lele1432 Great prompts!! 5d
4thhouseontheleft @jillrhudy I fall asleep to quickly to get much reading done in bed! 5d

I pulled these two golden oldies out today to read to my nieces and they loved them! Who doesn‘t want to meet Mrs. God, Shaniqua the angel, and Bruce God‘s secretary. This is a fun and beautifully illustrated set of books that allow children let their imaginations run free about what it means to create a world!

I would have brought in the New Year, having read 💯 books; However, food poisoning made me hate all life and it did not happen. 😅

I hope everyone else had a fantastic New Year's celebration! Happy belated New Year's! 🥳

1. Three biggies from the 2010‘s: I got married; saw the Grand Canyon; & said goodbye to my imperfect, fierce, rascal of a Grandma.

2. Continue to read more nonfiction & poetry. I‘m also thinking about ascribing a word to each day (so far, I have “enrobed” and “discomforted”). And I‘m hoping to make (& file) a decorative index card for each book that I read this year, a la @marleed .

3. Drink lots of water to combat my hangover? 😅

marleed Ohhh, I‘m honored! Hey, I was thinking of documenting a word from each book I read to add to my vocabulary. From my posted book today, my word is untoward. I just want to slip that into a conversation! 4w
monalyisha @marleed Some days, I think they‘ll come from life & some days from art (reading). While I have you: did you happen to make note of the brand of markers you use? 4w
marleed Ohh, I have one in my hand right now. Brand is Staedtler doubled-ended fiber tipped markers. I find I only use the thin side. I purchased at Office Depot. I just checked and amazon carries them - cheaper! 4w

Crazeedi @marleed @monalyisha I love using unusual words and words that aren't used much. I love the looks I get, I've always done this. Also your index card idea is a great one! I have all kinds of markers, pens, pencils etc, I'm a pen/pencil/paper freak 4w
Crazeedi @monalyisha congrats and my sympathies, two extremes of emotions you had this year 4w
marleed @crazeedi Aren‘t office supplies the best!? I love that you keep words from the past alive. Please let me know if you can seamlessly fit untoward in a conversation in the next week or so! ...My reading word of 2019 was ostensibly because I notice it in writing so often but way less often in actual conversation. 4w
