Lively YA story of young girl who deals with a lot of troubles on a ship from England to the US in early 1800s I think. A good tale with a strong heroine. A little hard to believe though.
Started a YA book I haven‘t read before.
Between a pick and a so-so as it took a while for the story to get going. It was also darker than I thought it would be. However, all in all, fairly enjoyable.
This was a fast read for me - full of adventure! I read this originally because it was on Obamas summer book list.

I can't say that I'm particularly interested in shipwrecks and mutiny but I decided to read this based on liking the author's previous books. This was well-written and well-researched. The audiobook narration by Dion Graham was excellent. He also narrated Poverty by America which I happened to listen to right before this one.
In British maritime history of the late 18th century, few events captured the public's imagination more than the Mutiny on the Bounty. I love historical fiction so I should love Avi more but he‘s really hit or miss with me. This will probably be the last of his I read. Quantity vs quality? This was ok but as they say, nothing to write home about it.
