Anyone else sometimes like to read to make nice patterns?

"Optimist" is a word which here refers to a person, such as Phil, who thinks hopeful and pleasant thoughts about nearly everything. For instance, if an optimist had his left arm chewed off by an alligator, he might say, "Well, this isn't too bad. I don't have my left arm anymore, but at least nobody will ever ask me whether I am right-handed or left-handed," but most of us would say something more along the lines of "Aaaaah! My arm! My arm!"

If we understand how the tree works, how the trunk and roots are where the power lies, and how gravity is on our side, we can attack it, each of us with small axes, and change the face of the forest. So let‘s learn all there is to know about the tree of racism. The root. The fruit. The sap and trunk. The nests built over time, the changing leaves. That way, your generation can finally, actively chop it down.

Waiting is one of life's hardships. It is hard enough to wait for chocolate cream pie while burnt roast beef is still on your plate. It is plenty difficult to wait for Halloween when the tedious month of September is still ahead of you. But to wait for one's adopted uncle to come home while a greedy and violent man is upstairs was one of the worst waits the Baudelaires had ever experienced.

Here's my #unreadshelfproject progress for January 2023. I started with 2,251 unread books and only bought 5 physical new books. However, while cleaning, I found a bag of books I hadn't counted. So I read 23 books, 11 of which were moved off Mt. TBR, and ended up with 2,252 unread at the end of the month. Oops. #readingmytbr #bujo #bulletjournal

Inspired by @Clwojick today, I started this #bujo tracking page for the first half of my year. I had a nice streak of 13 days straight of finishing at least one book. #bulletjournal

If the same object from two different times touches itself, one of two things will happen. Either the Universe will cease to exist. Or three remarkable dwarfs will dance through the streets with flowerpots on their heads.

This was the perfect read on a day when I had a road trip! Light and funny!

Everyone has their s*** to shovel, Callahan. Everybody. Now, yours is right up front where everyone can see it. I don't envy you that. But everybody has some, whether you can see it or not.

It was not the amount you gave that counted, but simply the gesture of giving.

Not sure about the clowns, especially the one that caused a car accident but the other clown got ticketed. The addition problems with candy were cute, though.

I was gifted two copies of this book from BookCrossers and finally finished it 5,093 days after I started reading one copy! Glad to finally learn whodunit! Loved the Scotland flavor and even a reference to Kintail (where my username originated). #unreadshelfproject

Adorable book about setting boundaries, having control over your body and learning how to communicate respectfully with others. We read this at church for our Time for All Ages on January 22, 2023.
