The Vampire Chronicles Collection: Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, The Queen of the Damned | Anne Rice
The hypnotic, deeply seductive novels of Anne Rice have captivated millions of fans around the world. It all began a quarter of a century ago with Interview with the Vampire. Now, in one chilling volume, here are the first three classic novels of The Vampire Chronicles. INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE Witness the confessions of a vampire. A novel of mesmerizing beauty and astonishing force, it is a story of danger and flight, love and loss, suspense and resolution, and the extraordinary power of the senses. A magnificent, compulsively readable thriller . . . Anne Rice begins where Bram Stoker and the Hollywood versions leave off and penetrates directly to the true fascination of the myththe education of the vampire. Chicago Tribune THE VAMPIRE LESTAT Once an aristocrat from pre-revolutionary France, now a rock star in the decadent 1980s, Lestat rushes through the centuries seeking to fathom the mystery of his existence. His is a mesmerizing storypassionate and thrilling. Frightening, sensual . . . A psychological, mythological sojourn . . . Anne Rice will live on through the ages of literature. . . . She has a marvelously devious plan to save mankindin this vivid novel of the erotic, electrifying world of the undead. BarbaraTheBibliophage @MoonWitch94 I hated the Tom Cruise / Brad Pitt movie. But the series is fantastic so far! 🖤 what they‘ve done with the story. 2y
MoonWitch94 @BarbaraTheBibliophage I have never read it, but it‘s in my tbr. I love the Cruise/Pitt movie; but I have no reference point, so it will be interesting to see if I still like it after I read it. 2y

Palimpsest 🙈Confession. I started reading Witching Hour, which I thought was written so well. I‘m so intrigued by the story, but it actually freaked me out a lot. I like witches and vampires, but not demons. I read about eighty pages and bailed, but I desperately want to know the story, sort of! 5y

2. Pumpkin, but both
3. Vampires, but really both
4. Haunted House — I hate the smell and feel of hay

Both! But mostly pumpkin.
I associate fireplaces more with Winter than Fall, so bonfire?
Yes! All the desserts! But pie for Thanksgiving!
I love owls, but foxes are my favorite animals.

My best friend and I are planning a girls trip to New Orleans. Looking for recommendations of cool things to do, tours, sites etc... or any suggestions of where I can find helpful tips. #literarytravel #neworleans #vacation #repost #share

DeborahSmall I love New Orleans!! I spent 5 nights there 2 years ago as part of my honeymoon as it was the first place my husband and I took a trip to 15 years ago. It wasn‘t literary at all. I did get to a couple of great secondhand bookstores though. Would recommend breakfast or brunch at The Ruby Slipper on Magazine and The Oceana Grill on Bourbon for dinner. ❤️ 7y
cariashley I just went in April and loved it. I wasn‘t able to do a lot of literary type things because it was a short trip, but the Faulkner house/bookstore on Pirate Alley is a must visit! 7y

I've read every vamp book she's turned out and they are all great...But reading Lestat come to terms with his nature and the nature of God was a phenomenal way to spend hours (and hours and hours). Every vampire book after pales in comparison.

#ILikeBigBooks for #booktober
In general... I don't like big books, but I make an exception for Brandon Sanderson and I'm also a fan of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. All these books are over 1k pages! 😱
What's the longest single book you've read? For me, it's Words of Radiance, which is 1.2k. I finished it in like a week because it was one of the best books I've ever read!

#bigbooks #SFF #fantasy #reading #hardcovers

Tcip @read_diverse_books I have read words of radiance and way of kings. The other huge books I have read include infinite jest, atlas shrugged and the fountain head. And a grip of Steven king. 8y
Eyglo I generally gravitate towards "normal" sized books too ? but I guess the longest one I read was The Pillars of the Earth. My edition was around 1000 pages... 8y
read_diverse_books @Tcip Glad to see another Sanderson fan! It's impressive you've read two Ayn Rand tomes. 👍 and I've also read IT by Stephen Kings. Another 1k page book! 8y
See All 15 Comments
read_diverse_books @Eyglo Anyone who has read a book that's 1000 pages deserves some sort of award. 🙌 8y
Eyglo @read_diverse_books hahah so true! 💪😊 8y
Nafiza I read 1Q84 before deciding that long books are not very fun unless they are fantasy. I also read The Luminaries....did I say read? I meam suffered. The writing was gorgeous but man the plot failed me. 8y
kdwinchester I thought THE WAY OF KINGS was long. 😱 That audiobook was about over 30 hours! The next one is going to be 📚📚📚📚📚📚📚 forever! 8y
kdwinchester P.S LOVE Sanderson!! The Mistborn trilogy . . . I can't even. May even beat the Belgariad audiobooks. ❤️ 8y
read_diverse_books @kdwinchester I read it all by my slow self, so it must have taken me more than 30 hours. 😁 But I didn't do anything else except read when I bought it. 😅 8y
read_diverse_books @Nafiza The only long books I can stand are Fantasy, you're so right about that. With the right writer, I wish a story could last forever. 8y
RealLifeReading I've never read Sanderson! But I know many Littens are fans of his books 8y
WOCreads Haha oh Yikes! I'm horrible w big books and tend to avoid them. Not sure what my longest book was...sth by Vikram Seth probably😬 8y
JanuarieTimewalker13 @read_diverse_books Harlot's Ghost by Norman Mailer...I must have taken the prize on renewing a book...that behemoth took me forever...1k+ 8y
read_diverse_books @RealLifeReading That's great! His work deserves much love. 😍 8y
read_diverse_books @Ifyoucanreadthis_Bina The last big books I read were The Fifth Season and The Grace of Kings. Currently reading The Obelisk Gate, after reading like 6 200 page books! Lol 8y
