November #bookspin #doublebookspin
October! I‘m ready for cozy season but I don‘t love Fall because I know what‘s to come.
#bookspin #doublebookspin
I first heard about this book when Oprah chose it for her book club which always puts me off. Obama had it one of his lists last year so that made me think maybe i should try. Indigo chose it as their book of the year for 2023 so I figured I might as well try it. I finally got around to it this week and I LOVED it!! It‘s my favourite of the year so far. I wish I would have saved it for my book club.
I….. just didn‘t connect with this one. I don‘t even know what to say. The sense of impending doom was definitely not the vibe I‘m wanting right now. I don‘t know the story of Snow White and Rose Red which probably would have helped. #camplitsy24
I‘ve just started and maybe I haven‘t given this one a fair shake but I‘m already annoyed so I‘m out. I‘m not putting up with anymore mediocre novels this summer. #doublebookspin #allhailthebail
August #bookspin #doublebookspin
I‘ll start out by saying Katherine Center is an adorable human being. Love her on Instagram and I will continue to follow her but I won‘t be rushing to read any more of her books. I had a feeling I wouldn‘t like this because of the (sort of) enemies to lovers trope. I have a hard time cheering for the woman to end up with an asshole. But that‘s the case here. Also she says “Charlie Yates” approximately 7000 times! (I‘m exaggerating but it‘s a LOT)
I did not like this one. The words treacly and twee come to mind. It starts out ok but the blurb makes this sound like a found family story which doesn‘t happen until well past the half way point. There is a very cringey plot point that was unnecessary and creepy. I actually hate finished it.
I got one on paper and one on audio, in hindsight I wish I would have done it the other way around. Really looking forward to the discussion on Saturday. #CampLitsy24
I have really been overthinking my summer reading. I‘ve gone through pretty much every summer reading guide that I know about, listened to all the podcasts, joined #camplitsy2024 and I‘ve tried to go through some of the “summer” books I already own, so I am ready!!! My list is 77 books long so far! 🤣🤣 To put in perspective, that‘s more books than I read last year. Anyway, the making of the list has been fun! Hopefully the reading is fun too!!!
I got the audiobook this morning and am already 20% in. I have laughed a bunch and even snort laughed once! I can already tell I‘ll be sad when it‘s over.

I‘m pretty excited for this lis!
April #bookspin #doublebookspin
Hoping to get some outdoor reading happening. 🤞🏼🤞🏼
After a mild Winter, Spring has been slow to come!❄️💨💦🌞🌷
March? How? We really haven‘t had a proper prairie winter here yet. It seems so strange. I‘m a mood reader so every month when I think about my #bookspin list I think “what do I feel like.” This month‘s answer was “Rupaul, and I have absolutely no idea what else.” So here is my list. 🤷🏻♀️
I got Come and Get It from Libby on release day! Never happened before so I‘m starting there! #bookspin #doublebookspin
I‘m late but I haven‘t checked the numbers yet. I just realized today is the second! 🤦🏻♀️ #bookspin
I really do hate to DNF when I‘m this close to the end but I can‘t. I think people know that people with intellectual disabilities where once referred to as something else and when authors use the “r-word” I usually bail right away. The author decided this needed to be explained. So I gave this a pass at the beginning, the author has now used this word at least six times and I can‘t let it go. If your job is words, choose a different word. ⤵️

I have never been so happy to have been influenced by a cute cover! This was so much fun! Narration by Will Wheaton was perfection! Just what I was looking for.
I feel like a broken record (dating myself) but I‘m really hoping this is the month I find my reading mojo again! I‘ve been off for months now! I just want to find something that I just can‘t put down. I want an audiobook that will make me want to clean out my closet. I want to read outside in my hammock for hours. Nothing is sticking 😞
Hoping the answer comes this month! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

I really liked this with one small exception. There is some animal death that seemed long and drawn out and ended up making the end of the book feel emotionally manipulative to me. I wish the end had been different but I still really enjoyed the book overall. 4⭐️
Technology and I are not friends right now. Sorry for the bad photo.
I am having no luck finding my reading mojo. Continuing to hope!!
#bookspin #doublebookspin
#bookspin #doublebookspin I really haven‘t found my reading groove so far this year. I‘m hoping the key is in here somewhere. I can‘t believe I have three celebrity book club picks on my list this month! I guess we‘ll see if I should get over my aversion. 🤷🏻♀️

My May bookspin list. Looking forward to this list!
I‘m really hoping I get some outdoor reading done in May. Still waiting for Mother Nature to turn the heat on!
I have been so bad at sticking to my list so far this year. I continue to try! #bookspin #doublebookspin
Demon Copperhead got me in a hangover I‘m struggling to get out of! Hopefully the cure is in here somewhere! #bookspin #doublebookspin
I have to finish Demon Copperhead (which I am LOVING) first but let‘s see what comes up this month!! #bookspin #doublebookspin
Ann‘s got a new book coming this summer!!! I don‘t even know what it‘s about but I‘m excited!!!!
January bookspin.
Thanks again Sarah for continuing this challenge. I‘m really enjoying sitting down and figuring out what I really want to read each month. (Even if I don‘t always stick to the list 😝)
#bookspin #doublebookspin
I‘m hoping December goes better than November!!! Looking forward to buddy reading this month. #ACarolADay #KindredSpiritsChristmas
#bookspin #doublebookspin
A few #nonfictionnovember picks, leftovers from months past, irl book club pick. I hope I covered all of my seasonally affected mood reader bases!
#bookspin #doublebookspin
I think that if I preorder a book long before Reese Whitherspoon chooses that book for her book club that my copy should not have that stupid stamp on it. #dontneedacelebritytotellmewhattoread
October! September flew by and I didn‘t get as much reading done as I wanted, hopefully I‘ll do better this month!
#bookpin #doublebookspin
If I‘m honest I have to say that I struggled with this book. It took me an entire month to finish. I couldn‘t stay focused on it and wasn‘t always compelled to pick it up when I had time to read. HOWEVER, part six (the last 27 pages) wrecked me. It is absolutely beautiful and made the pace of the rest make sense and totally worth while. I DNF a lot but I‘m glad I wouldn‘t let myself give up on this one. Thanks “Past Angie”.

Another month I‘m really excited about! I still have some summer reads that I didn‘t get to but it‘s not technically fall just yet and I‘ll hang to summer as long as I can!
I put my crochet down to grab some lunch. Sadie had some other ideas so I guess I‘m reading! 📚🚫🧶
I‘m ok with that! 😄
So far, I‘ve had a pretty decent summer for reading but it has also been full of disappointments. This was definitely one of them. To me, this felt like an outline to a really great novel, not a great read. It‘s short, choppy, and I didn‘t like the third person point of view. There were some very poignant sentences, a few laughs, and some gut punches. I can‘t “pan” it but I didn‘t love it as I was expecting. #unpopularopinions
My favourite book of the year so far! I first heard about this one in the Modern Mrs Darcy summer reading guide. I almost skipped over it but then I read what it was about and figured I better try it. It‘s not easy, breezy summer reading but it‘s EXCELLENT!!
The narrator‘s southern drawl is perfection. I had a hard time putting it down.
#wonderouswednesday
1. I am currently reading Unlikely Animals set in Everton, New Hampshire and Book Lovers set in Sunshine Falls, North Carolina
2. Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus 💜
3. So many! Fredrik Backman, Celeste Ng, Blake Crouch, Alexis Hall and Becky Chambers all have books coming out this year that I can‘t wait to read.
Thanks for the tag @RaeLovesToRead 😄
This book is far more sad than it is funny. I don‘t find mental illness “riotously funny”. Had this been marketed differently I may have enjoyed it more. It wasn‘t what I was looking for right now. I am still curious to see what Byron Lane writes next as this was well written.
