I love Harry Potter, but fictional characters cannot be stated as valid examples for thesis in real-life psychology studies and books!

I am so sorry about this sentence I am casting, this was a book I so much anticipated reading and... It turned out to be such a disappointment! I don't disagree with the thesis, but the writing style (too much self-centred and enthusiastic) and the lack of data are preventing me from liking this book.

Just finished this book - I couldn't put it down. Mystery, feuilleton and unexpected villain(s?). #mystery #spanishreads

GarthRanzz I loved this book! Have you ever seen the movie version, The Ninth Gate? 7y
CarolynM My husband loves this guy's books. I'll have to tell him about the movie @GarthRanzz 7y
Xeroaa13 @GarthRanzz No, I did not see the movie, but it is from Roman Polanski with Johnny Depp, I should give a try! @CarolynM does your husband recommend another one of this author's books? 7y
CarolynM He says this one is his favourite 7y
Xeroaa13 Thanks @CarolynM ! I will research it :) I have the Fencing master in ebook format. Any thoughts on it? 7y

Tatiana & Alexander | Paullina Simons
Panpan

I fell for it again. I hoped that the second book could give me the thrill of the first one, but I was disappointed. First of all the pace is slow, with too many flashbacks and digressions. I am not a fan of straight-to-the-point books, but here we had too many reminiscences of the past. In addition, I don't understand how the characters did not evolve: I wanted more of Tatiana and Alexander, but I read a book of strangers. stick to the first one.

KateFulfordAuthor Second novels can be like that. If you want deeper characters & a page turning plot, may I recommend my debut? 6y

When I saw it in the bookshop with it's gilded cover I had to buy it. After reading it I do not agree with myself anymore: the core topic of the book is incredibly interesting, but the style is dull, repetitive and superficial. A good book to read if you want to start in the topic, definitely not the best one.

Awesome movie, really hope the book is going to be better (as it always is)!

MrBook Oooh! The book was awesome! Don't know if I want to see the movie after reading the book and then seeing the trailer, lol. If you say it's good, then maybe I just will have to go see it. 😉👍🏻😎🙌🏻 7y
Xeroaa13 Thanks! I wouldn't define it the best Steven Spielberg's movie ever, but I found it quite enjoyable not being a fan of highly CGI movies. I need to read the novel now to be objective :) 7y
tpixie Loved the book- but I haven‘t seen the movie. My son has experienced both and enjoyed both!! 7y
DivineDiana This was a surprise favorite for me which I never would have read, if not for Litsy! Want to see the movie! 7y
Xeroaa13 @DivineDiana good to know ;) I liked the movie more than I expected, as it is not at all a Tron-like film. It was a very much enjoyable evening 7y

Tough read - interesting and unusual plot, but it was difficult for me to stick to the pages. Still think that Calvino is a genius and might go back to this book when I'll be wiser.

It was simply impossible to stop reading. It obsessed my days and nights. The book contains many character and narrative flaws, but for some strange reason I could not manage to get my head off it. Pick it if you feel like an epic love story with a knight in a shiny armour and crazy secondary characters!

How come symmetry is all around us?
Incredibly enough this is linked to the mathematical concept of the group theory, theorised for the first time by Evariste Galois when he was less than 20 years old. Evariste's tragic story is the background of this thorough journey across symmetry.
What about the equation in the title? Well, this is the fifth grade one...

In the TBR list since the Angloamerican Culture classes at uni in 2011. It's the cornerstone of the unwilling time travel genre and it is an incredibile quick and simple read. But I did not find the wonder in this short story, probably because it took me so much time to decide to pick it up.
I definitely will go and read some extra critical work about it to understand fully its meaning and give justice! #TBR #2017readingchallenge
