Each day this week I‘m tackling a different area or two for decluttering/organizing. Today I did my bookshelves (also one in my room). I had stacks overflowing here and stacked on top of each shelf of books. I have a box to donate and a few I had to toss because they were pretty beat up. I had these color coordinated before and it bugged me. It‘s organized chaos but it‘s the way I like it. Grouped by genre, series, and size. I‘m happy with it 😁
For years, I haven't had enough bookshelf space and just made due in creative ways. Today my husband found this big ol' bookshelf for free on Nextdoor. It's a little dinged up and I need to buy shelf pegs for one shelf, but is in good enough condition. I'm super excited to get my overflow books off the floor and clean up my creatively stacked main bookshelf! #Shelfie #Bookshelf

I just moved in with my BF. It‘s been a crazy 4 years. Thank you @Lynnsoprano for all you‘ve done for me these last several years. If I‘m half the mom I am to my son as you and dad have been to me, I‘ll consider myself a great parent. So here are 3 of the 4 6-foot tall shelves for my books. I might have a problem 😅
Finally got a new bookcase for my Franklin Library Collection. Every time I go to a used bookstore or thrift shop I‘m always on the lookout for a piece of this collection. I love having one book type to look out for where ever I am. All it needs now are some awesome bookends and maybe a fancy globe? Does anyone else collect one published set of books?
Beginning to rearrange my bookshelves… Going with color coordinated now and I kinda like it. But it‘s a work in progress. I want to get a rotating bookshelf to go where that stack is on the floor. My books are overflowing even after donating a bunch. 😬
I‘ve recently moved back home to the UK after going away and giving away most of my books and other possessions! I‘m rebuilding my collection and feeling utterly delighted by these shelves. Just need to read them now!

I already made a little adjustment and moved the bobble heads up, because I kept knocking things over when I walked by the lower shelf. While it‘s true that I‘m not very graceful, it‘s also true that the walking space between bed and bookcase isn‘t very wide.
Until I can find a better home for my beading supplies, I don‘t expect to do another reorganization for a while. Famous last words!

The tour continues! These are two of my favorite shelves. They‘re mostly books I‘ve read in the respective formats, with a few TBR mixed in with them. The artwork on the top shelf is a hand-drawn farewell card from one of my coworkers when I retired, and on the bottom shelf it‘s Van Gogh‘s Almond Blossom. #shelfie
The Yankees are driving me crazy, so it‘s a good time to continue the tour through my library.
Thomas Jefferson‘s head fell off, so I relocated the bobble heads from the bottom shelf to the safer top shelf and let his alma mater represent. Behind them are mostly read books with a few TBR, and old planners/journals.
Second shelf holds some small books, my husband‘s anniversary card that I couldn‘t find last year, and travel books.

Thank you to those who gave advice on whether the cardboard backing makes a difference on cube shelving! I‘m giving it a go without. I moved mostly read books to the shelf yesterday. Don‘t ask how many unread books are still stacked elsewhere 😬 #shelfie
For those of you who don‘t follow my bookstagram, I‘m looking for bookshelf advice! Can I get away with no cardboard backing? It‘s a 12 cube shelf.
Long story short, I redid my bookshelves AGAIN after just doing a little tweak upon returning from my trip to Gladstone‘s Library.
This bookcase used to hold a set of Encyclopedia Brittanica! This contraption on top was for the annual “supplements.” There‘s also a slot in the back for the atlas.
There‘s nothing special about these particular books other than they‘re more or less the same height. All are TBR. #shelfie

So I put together my Billy bookcase and I knew it was going to be bigger than my last shelf but this thing is almost intimidating in my small room. 😂 may move it to the spare room with my other shelves and keep the smaller one in my room.

Built my new bookshelf today. Because my little one with all my DVD‘s on was overflowing with the books. I haven‘t got many books compared to most people but I only started reading this year. The top shelf is read and the middle is too read. There are 3 more compartments above it for more books! Also put my records on there in the come together box 📦

One of the fun things I did today was dust all my bookcases and books! Normally I do regular bookshelf dusting twice a month but today I actually took each book off each shelf to get a super in depth dusting! It probably sounds weird, but IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! 😍📚💕
I also took the oppurtunity to count my books as well, and apparently I have 2680 total! 😲 WOW!
Finally getting to unpack my books!! Wish me luck because I am attempting to rainbow the sides. I thought I would try and keep my series ones together in the middle. We shall see. 😅📚
My sister and her wife had someone build them a nice big bookshelf, so I inherited this one! Hmmm my little entrance way still doesn't look like much but I'm sure it will be warmer once the shelves are filled with books. I also got living room curtains today, so a good day for my little home.

My books were starting to overflow from my bookshelf. We had a sort of portable linen closet in the garage. My husband took the doors and hinges off, spruced it up a bit, and voila! A "new" shelf for my books. And now I have an excuse to get more ?

Apart from putting on handles my work/TBR bookshelf is finally finished. This was a dark brown unit from my grandmother in laws house. She sadly died from Covid in March. My mother in law was really pleased someone in the family wanted to keep it. Lots of elbow grease and time but I‘m very happy with it
