The Raven | Jonathan Janz

Just finished up my ARC of The Raven by Jonathan Janz and what a good Halloween season read! In the post-apocalyptic world of The Raven monsters are real, and monsters are people. Vampires, werewolves, cannibals, sirens, satyrs; the traits of these monsters all exist within humans and during the Change they were brought out. Such a unique monster concept and fun, scary read as always from Janz!

I loved getting to follow Lemon around for this sequel rather than Evie. We still hear from other characters throughout the book, but this is largely Lemon Fresh‘s story and she deserves it!

Well...tiredness got me in the end and I wasn‘t able to stay up past 3 am! But I did finish one novel, a graphic novel, and an audiobook! Not a horrible #Readathon!

The tagged book is amazing. It had so much heart. It kept me engrossed for hours!

Unfortunately I have to work all day tomorrow, but I‘ll be participating in the #deweys24hourreadathon when I get home! And Sunday is my day off so that means all night reading!

Realistically, I‘ll never read all of these...but it‘s fun to have choices! 🙃

Good luck to everybody else participating tomorrow!

My #EasterExtravaganza wrap up!

My goal was to finish all my current reads and I made it! The books at the bottom were my audio and ebook reads.

Favorite was probably Where the Crawdads Sing or Smoke Gets in Your Eyes!

Andrew65 Well done 🍾🥂👏👏👏🙌⭐️ Thanks for playing along. 5y

Might as well take advantage of my weird work schedule right now and put it towards reading for a readathon!

Thanks @Andrew65 for setting this up!

My goals are going to be pretty loose, I mostly want to get all my current reads finished (since I have... 7 😬) and also spend a lot of time audio reading because I‘ve got animal crossing to play!

Lazy day reads and puppy snuggles! ❤️

I loved this book! It reads like a love letter to murderinos everywhere! A missing aunt, a possible serial killer, a haunted motel, and amateur sleuths. I couldn‘t put it down.

Just finished this up. It was really good, but also possibly too long. I enjoyed reading it but at times felt like I was making no progress in it...😬

Would probably recommend to people who enjoy Game of Thrones. It has the same style plot with intricate character relationships and deceit, on a smaller scale.

My March reads!
Favorite: definitely The Hunger, read it in all in a day! And Untamed Shore/King of Scars were also favorites.
Least favorite: The Tomb, not horrible just a bit dated with some of the terms and language used.

After having an immensely horrible start to 2020, I‘m hoping to focus more on books and Litsy again, because the world is a damn mess. Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe! ❤️

What a lush and lyrical little book! I have to admit for the first few chapters I was little lost and afraid that they weren‘t going to explain much, but it all comes together in the end. And the ending is so beautiful! I only wish we had a full length book in this world!

Finished my first book for the #Readathon! And what a great book it ended up being! I was only mildly interested in this ARC at first because anything with dragons piques my interest, but Fireborne ended up having so much more to offer! The world-building in this story is phenomenal and I love the way the author was so clearly inspired by classics and Latin. I‘ll definitely be following up with this series! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oh my gosh, I went into this just expecting another pandemic-esque story and got so much more! I was completely enthralled by this novella and couldn‘t put it down until I finished. What a terrifying look at the potential horrors of anti-vaccination propaganda! And as always with Mira Grant‘s (Seanan McGuire) works, the characters are all equally intriguing and absorbing.

I‘m giving this a pick even though my reading of it was more on the so-so side. It IS an adorable, diverse teen romance with a strong female main character who i loved, I think I‘m just not the right audience for sticky sweet romances... 🤷🏻‍♀️Nonetheless, I know there are plenty of people out there who will/have enjoyed this!

Wow. This book had me hooked from the start and all the way through to the end!

Accused of killing an infant that was in her mother‘s care at the age of 9, Mary has never known much outside of baby jail and group homes. When Mary finds out she is pregnant, she must decide how to tell her truth in order to protect and keep her own child.

This book is intense and has some really interesting twists!

My final tally for #deweysapril #readathon was 3 books, 2 graphic novels and about 4 hours worth of audio! 676 pages in total.

I didn‘t get a huge amount read but I blame that on Black Leopard, Red Wolf being such a chunkster! almost half of my pages read are from that one! 😳

I didn‘t participate too much in activities and mostly just read all day/night. ❤️❤️ A perfect readathon!

Picked this up on a whim at the library and I ended up actually really enjoying it! I‘ve seen mixed reviews on goodreads, mostly due to it being a bit slow at times or cliche, but I would give it a 3.5/5 stars. My only issue was that I cared more for a couple of the side characters than the actual Girl King.

Finished this amazing read without putting it down today, because I was that drawn in! Sadie is about an older sister whose younger sister has been murdered and her journey to finding her sister‘s killer. Simultaneously, a podcast is being recorded about the girls while family friends are trying to find out where Sadie went. It‘s tough, but such a good read. #relatedtoapodcast #booked2019

Cinfhen I‘ve seen so many positive reviews for this book on Litsy! Is it written as very YA?? 6y
Kamisha @Cinfhen I wouldn‘t say so. It‘s got a lot of heavy content and the main character is 19, but very much in one of those unfortunate situations where she has had to be an adult her whole life. So I didn‘t really get a strong YA feel from it. 6y
Cinfhen Yay!!! I wasn‘t sure if it was a YA book. I‘ve requested via my library. 😃 6y
