This was a very fun story collection! Like all collections some stories were better than others but I enjoyed all of them.

Listening to this fascinating and funny book is a great way to get started in the morning 😆
We move into our new home next week, I am so excited to get all my books back from storage and on my shelves 🤗
I found the most amazing Poe Collected Work printed in 1927 for $20😲
This was very good, I was hooked right from the start. Release date - March 2023 Thank you #Netgalley for providing complimentary ARC for review.
This book is cracking me up but I‘m not sure if I can keep listening to it at work today because even if I put on headphones and work in the back of shop, folks might wonder why I‘m giggling and snorting to myself back there 🤔😄
This was fascinating and horrible, a gripping narrative about a terrible occurrence. I was completely wrapped up in the story right from the start. I read the ARC from #Netgalley (thank you🙂) but it was released in April of this year and I want a physical copy for sure!!
I was lucky enough to get an ARC from #Netgalley and I really enjoyed it very much 🙂 It was entirely different from, The Passage, but just as good. The atmosphere and characters were done so well. I can‘t wait for the actual book to come out (pub day May 02, 2023) so I can reread it and share it with my friends.
Not my usual type of read but I rather enjoy the daily reading of these bite size bits of stoic philosophy 😁
A bit more of a coming of age story than I was expecting but a very solid debut novel. I thought it was well written and would definitely read more by Karen Winn. Thank you, NetGalley for the ARC to review and sorry it took me so long to get to it😊
This was almost not a pick, I liked the premise and bookshop setting but I really wished I had liked the characters more.
The book was beautiful!! The poems and illustrations were absolutely stunning and I loved every page 😍
I picked this up because of my new fascination with dark matter and I was not disappointed. It was a very interesting look at particle physics and a lot more accessible than I thought it would be 😌
Loved this book, Marcellus and Tova were both great characters to spend time with!! #ARC #GoodreadsGiveaways
My local bookstore had a warehouse sale so I picked up 16 books for $30 ($10 once I used my trade in credit) 🤗 Bryson is skeptical about our sagging bookshelves' ability to hold them though 😄 Also, I am really hoping tagged book is going to help my grammar inprove.
Well that got a bit weird👀 This was not a book for everyone, it had some very disturbing (yet intriguing) scenes that won't be easy to forget. That being said I loved the writing style, enjoyed the book and know this story will linger in my thoughts for quite awhile.
Fascinating audiobook!! I guess there is a podcast too (I'll definitely have to look it up) I just saw this on my library's homepage and thought I'd give it a try. I think anyone that enjoys Bill Bryon, Sam Kean or AJ Jacobs will enjoy this.
The writing was excellent, specially as I believe this was a debut novel. I will say that as the warning states there were some very difficult/upsetting parts to read but I do like books that bring out strong emotions. A big thank you to @simonbooks and Scout Press for sending me a complimentary ARC.
My Nonfiction November books, I won ARCs of ,Fossil Men, Last Call, from #goodreadsgiveaway and ,My Life In France, My Backyard Jungle, have been on my TBR for awhile now 😊
I listened to, Psycho, while painting my bookshelf. It was good but I was a bit spoiled on the story since I've seen the movie and watched, The Bates Motel ☺ It was nice to mark it off my TBR list though🤗
Looking for a spooky Halloween book? I just finished, The Patience Of A Dead Man, and it was so good! I can't wait to read the rest of the series 👀
I am not sure audio was the way to go on this book, the reader's voice made me sleepy ☺ There were interesting parts, but then they tended to get buried in dense, dry passages of studies/statistics/anecdotes that all jumbled together. I may try to check out a print copy and see if it is better.
This fell right into the so-so catagory, I think it had great potential but fell flat in the execution. Maybe it just tried to hit too many social issues, in too short of a story, something just was off for the whole book and I thought I would love it.
This was good suspense, I'm not always fond of that genre. This story had nothing too farfetched, the characters were interesting (but not too bizarre to believe), the story was paced well, fed little details throughout and still had lots of twists and turns.
Side note- I found this ARC at a thrift store, it was not sent to me.
Finished my cable spool bookshelf DIY project with some help from the hubby and now I can finish this page turner 🤗
I love a good Camelot tale!!! This was a great start to the series, I can't wait for the next to come out.
Yay!!! My local bookstore is open again and I got new books🤗 I have read ARCs of two already, A Tale For The Time Being, and, This Is Chance. The rest were from my overwhelming TBR list.
Happy Pub. Day 🤗
I enjoyed the family rivalry, with the 2 lines of magic. The writing was really well done, the characters were interesting and the story was paced nicely. Thanks to Netgalley for ARC.
I was pleasantly surprised by how readable this book was 🙂 I knew it was something I'd like but it was written in a way that just flowed. I think it is a very good introduction to poetry or for history buffs.
Thanks to #netgalley for providing a review eARC.
This was a very enjoyable novel about Sarah Bernhardt. I don't know how much was factual but it all seemed quite plausible. I loved reading about her times and Paris. I think any fan of historical fiction would love this book.
Thank you to #netgalley for providing an e-ARC to me for review.
⭐⭐⭐⭐🌟
This was completely compelling!! It felt like a very true story, even though it was fiction. I read through it so fast because of the before/after format and wanting to see how Piper pieced the two together.
I was caught up in the story right from the start and loved everything about this book! It was all done so well, the world building, magic system, characters, were all interesting and engrossing. I can't wait for the next in the series...
I had a special visitor at my front door last night!!🤗 Alas, I was all out of muffins, not that my hubby would let me feed it anyways☺ it did remind me of the, If You Give -__, books though and I used to love reading those to my son. He's 22 now, do you think he'd like a storytime call?😂
In an attempt to clear my shelves, I'm reading through some of my oldest TBRs on the shelves, each week I'll grab at least one. This book has been waiting about 5 years! It was funny and cute, a perfect purse/commute book as the stories/essays were just a few pages each and the cover is a conversation starter. So, book 1 of my project is a keeper☺
This has been my favorite read of 2020 so far! It was beautifully written and I can't wait to buy a copy so I can mark some of the lovely quotes/passages. I do think it will not be for everyone's tastes, there is a lot of ambiguity (both in the main character Pew and in what you take away from the story). I loved the mystery of Pew and being drawn into the mind of a character, yet not knowing their gender, race or age. Thanks to #netgalley for ARC
This was the first police procedural I have read, though I love watching then on T.V.😊 I really liked it, there were some interesting characters, good atmosphere, nice pacing/plot unfolding and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
I'd love recommendations for other police procedurals while I wait for next in series to come out.
I won an ARC in #goodreadsgiveaways- released 2/25/2020. A big thank you to Goodreads and Putnam for ARC
Lots of delicious, varied recipes to help your brain? Yes, please! As I've gotten into my 40s I've noticed some slipping of focus, little lapses of short term memory and who doesn't want to prevent that? The recipes were easy to follow and I found a lot of the introductory information interesting too.
Thank you to Callisto Publisher's Club for sending me a complimentary copy to review.
First off, I loved this cover! The story within was great too. I thought the different character perspectives were done very well and I liked how they intermingled. My only complaint was some of the pacing lagged a bit in spots, not enough to put me off the book but just enough to make the middle part of the book take awhile to get through.
Thank you #netgalley and Gallery books for providing an ARC to review.
Although I'm very excited about my #bookmail today, I have to say I did not enjoy the ordering experience. I recieved a Barnes & Noble gift card for my Bday and ordered all but, The Town (#goodreadsgiveaways) and the B&N site was frustrating. It took forever to fill my cart, a lot was not in stock online, then when I got to check out a few books wouldn't ship to my location (Alaska) so I had to go find replacements. Alas, it came fast & is great!
Is there anything better than getting book mail? I won, Firewatching, in #goodreadsgiveaways 🤗 A Natural Disaster, was written and published by a friend and is available on Amazon. I really want to start making my own bitters for cocktails so I ordered a book, dropper bottles, the Fuggler to supervise ☺
I saw a lot of mixed reviews for this book, but my library had the audio so I decided to listen to it while I did my weekend chores. I enjoyed this a lot, the myths, gods, quests and magic. It was different and I finished it in one straight listen, also my chores didn't get done☺
This was a bit of a struggle to read at first, the author made some writing choices I found distracting. The story was interesting enough that I did push through, I'll probably continue in the series but it was close to a DNF in the beginning. Thanks to #netgalley for review copy.
I have a morbid fascination with cults, so I was thrilled when I won a copy of this ARC in #goodreadsgiveaways. It started a little choppy but once I got going it was very good. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pure, fun, escapism at it's best!!
I usually don't delve into the superhero genre but this book's cover caught my eye and the description piqued my interest, so I gave it a try and so glad I did. It is a fast paced, action filled read and so very fun. I will definitely look for more books by this author.
My thanks to #netgalley and publisher for letting me read a review copy.
I love wine but honestly didn't know much about it. This book was a great guide to all aspects. It was laid out very nicely and had vibrant pictures with lots of information. I think I will definitely feel more confident about ordering a wine with my dinner now or buying a gift bottle.
Thank you, Callisto Publisher's Club for sending a copy to review.
Our first winter in Alaska and Bryson is thinking we need more blankets :) #dogsoflitsy
This book was very well done, the pacing, characters, family dynamics, setting, tone, were all spot on. It had just the amount of family drama and mystery/suspense to make it very believable and compelling.
I won this ARC in a #goodreadsgiveaway and the release date is - 5/19/2020
I love the way Mark Lages mixes quirky humor and real life emotional drama with such balance! I do think this may be one of my favorite of his books, it's very much neck and neck with, My Remarkable Little Monkey, anyways 🤗💗
Wow, that was an emotionally charged suspense! I kept going back and forth on which person I was most rooting for. I liked the pace and the alternating narrative between the two sisters. I also thought this did a good job of presenting how complex a troubled relationship between sisters can be. Thank you #netgalley for providing an ARC to review 🙂
Ever just decide to try something completely different? I enjoyed stepping out of my normal genres with this 'space opera" I think that is the term ☺ Thanks to #netgalley for providing an ARC to review! Release: March 24, 2020
