1. Hercule Poirot - Agatha is the reason I love this genre 😃
2. Lord Peter Wimsey

Earlier this year, I decided I wanted to read all of the Poirot mysteries. I found this list on the Agatha Christie website; as you can see, I‘ve made a good start! Eventually, I‘d like to watch the TV show again. David Suchet‘s portrayal is *exactement* how I imagine the little detective. 💖

Ruthiella For me too, Suchet IS Poirot. 👍 12mo
Caryl @Ruthiella - Yes! 💖 I feel like Suchet must have thoroughly studied Christie‘s descriptions so that he could be as faithful as possible to the character. I‘ve been meaning to look for an interview with him about playing the role of Poirot. 12mo
Librarybelle That‘s a great plan! 12mo

These are short stories rather than the novels that emerge later, but it's great to see how it all began, plus Hastings, Japp and Miss Lemon are all an integral part of Poirot's earlier cases.

Another Poirot short story collection. It was a nice read: I really love Poirot❤ and there's quite a few interesting problems for him to solve.

My first Agatha Christie complete! I enjoyed my time with Poirot and found him quite endearing...I even guessed the culprit correctly a few times. However so many short stories in one got a bit repetitive. My faves were The King of Clubs, the Cornish Mystery, and the longer Christmas story toward the end. Poirot clearly inspired the Monk series, no? Interesting to see the generational shifts as this was written in the 20‘s! #AuthorAMonth

Treated myself to a new sticker for my stamp pad.

It amuses me as I often feel this way while working from home.

@Sorceryandswords sorry about the blurry picture but it's the spines you really need to see, so here you go! 😹

Would it be possible to have a photo of your editions too so that I buy the right version too?!

I do like raspberries but I drink coffee instead of tea.

Sophoclessweetheart Thank you sweet! I‘m not at home until tomorrow but I‘ll see if I have a photo in my phone 🖤👌🏻 If not, I‘ll get one up tomorrow evening when I get home. These are the ones I thought they were so that‘s great! Don‘t worry, the raspberry is for chocolate 🍫😉 6y

One of my favourite characters is this famous sleuth.
“.. hardly more than 5ft 4in tall..his head was exactly the shape of an egg, and he always perched it a little on one side. The neatness of his attire was almost incredible; I believe a speck of dust would have caused him more pain than a bullet wound.”
He is the only fictional #character to have received an obituary on the front of The New York Times in 1975!

This was a little difficult, but in the end, I knew I had to choose one of my all-time favorite detectives: Hercule Poirot. Thank you, Agatha Christie 😊💖

Am I still on my Agatha Christie binge? But of course, mon ami! Some of these cases were more fun than others (and one exactly recreates the recently reread Mystery on the Blue Train, just set on a different 🚂) but all in all a pleasant romp.

Lcsmcat @TK-421 Oops! That‘s what happens when I post before coffee. 🤭 7y
Libby1 @Lcsmcat - Poirot looks rather portly there. I hadn‘t imagined him that way. 7y

The library came through for me (crazy quickly) with series 3 of Poirot, so I enjoyed a rewatch of Wasps' Nest, featuring Peter Capaldi 😍😍♥️♥️

TobeyTheScavengerMonk One day, young man, all of time and space will be yours to explore. 8y
Dragon 👍😀🎉 8y
rabbitprincess @TobeyTheScavengerMonk I LOVE that he's been the Doctor! It is the ultimate reward for a fan 😄 @Dragon Thank goodness for libraries! (edited) 8y

Netflix removed the first six seasons of Poirot from its library, so I can't continue my Capaldi/Suchet buzz with Wasps' Nest (which aired in Season 3) ☹️

Dragon Darn, I was going to check that out 😟 8y
EvieBee They can't play with us like that! 8y
rabbitprincess @Dragon @EvieBee84 And of course they don't tell you when stuff is removed! Even worse with a TV show because it looks complete until you click on it. Annoying! The first six seasons are the best seasons, too ☹️ 8y

LauraBrook What!?!!!! They've taken several of my favorites off on the last couple of weeks. Jerks! (Also, Poirot is on Acorn TV, but not sure if they're pulling episodes there yet.) 8y
rabbitprincess @LauraBrook It's not there either 😭😭😭😭 8y
LauraBrook @rabbitprincess Seriously?!? What the hell! I'm getting ticked off. They need to do a "leaving soon" list of series, bc like you said, what always was and still looks like a complete series has been turning into one season or a partial season, for a few weeks now. So frustrating! 8y
rabbitprincess @LauraBrook This is why I will never get rid of my physical DVDs. You can't trust streaming services to keep stuff around 😡 8y
LauraBrook @rabbitprincess Same! Thank goodness we've been able to slowly build up our respective DVD collections. 8y
EvieBee That's why I got back on the DVD plan. It was just getting ridiculous. No rhyme or reason either! Same with Amazon Prime. 8y
rabbitprincess @EvieBee84 I've held a grudge against Amazon for years and never tried the Prime service, but it is sadly not surprising that their content availability is variable as well. 8y
