This is my second Pinborough book. I did not enjoy as much as Behind her eyes. I was fine with the changing of POV, but the time changes kind of threw me off. Yet I love the writing style. This is a mother daughter story where both have secrets.
Wowee what a rollercoaster that was! I was totally hooked, it was such a page turner!
My first book by Sarah Pinborough and definitely won't be my last 😊
Passable thriller - realistically improbable but it's not doing anything that isn't a thriller staple.
Nominated for the 2019 Locus Horror Award.
I dont know. Too many plots or just too far fetched for me 🤷♀️
Excellent thriller with some surprises along the way. Lisa killed her brother at 11but now has a new life in nail the past comes back to haunt her.

II. The Winter Witch, still reading but was going to ditch it two hours in.
III. Remove it and place in a drawer. Otherwise the cats or dogs will tear it up.

1. Nope! I even hate books that leave the ending open.
2. Yep. Allegiant by Veronica Roth

This was a twisty psychological thriller that I had to finish in one day. A bit implausible but definitely a fun ride! Would recommend to anyone who enjoys fast-paced suspense novels. 4⭐️

P.S. I did it! My goal was to read as many BOTM books as I could this month — I‘m so behind and only read 4 total last year! 😱 I quickly amended my goal to try to read 12 BOTM books in January and I just made it! 12 down, about 30 to go! 😆 #goals
I initially thought it had a slow start, and since my sister said it was her favorite BOTM I was determined to not like it, lol! I was however quickly sucked in and couldn‘t put this down so I definitely enjoyed it.
As if I need any more botm books, does anyone know the spoilers for December?! I skipped November. We are reading One Day in December if you guys want to join!!

Goal is to start and finish by tomorrow evening 👍🏼
Okay thriller, I liked some of the twists and turns the story took but there was a lot going on here. Maybe too many plots? I listened on audio so that may have been part it but it was just a little meh.
“Someone can do a terrible unforgiving thing, and yet you forgive them if you love them. The heart is such a strange thing.”
This book was such a disappointment. I loved Behind Her Eyes and this one was just predictable and ridiculous. It did keep me reading but I‘d guessed everything before it happened.
On a brighter note, this is my new baby Revan! My boyfriend found him at work living in a dumpster. He seems to be about eight weeks old and he‘s settling into his new home well. 🐱 📚
General consensus among my GR friends was right—this was not great. I read it in basically a day so it held my attention, & I like an unreliable narrator. But this was reeeeally slow for the first third, then got so convoluted & bogged down w/unsubtle hints & ostensible red herrings that...weren‘t. Reveal was pretty trite & there were some corny TV cop show lines. But I loved Behind Her Eyes, so I‘m willing to try one more from her, maybe 😬2/5 ⭐️
God bless Google in all but medical situations.

Wait, chips are French fries. Who the fuck eats fries with lasagna? That sounds like dinner at a frat house. Are they drinking PBR with it?
A lot of my friends on Goodreads—including people who loved and people who hated her previous book—really detested this, LOL. But I loved Behind Her Eyes so I‘m willing to give it a chance!
Im not going to wait around for a man to save the day. Fuck. That. Shit.
Someone can do a terrible, unforgivable thing, and yet you forgive them if you love them. The heart is such a strange thing.
Time is always folded, the past like shadows we cant shake off...
...hope slips like sand between my fingers and I cant grasp it.
Experience teaches you the different kinds of pain...
...regrets like tombstones that have to be carried through life...
...heads on pillows, faces only outlines in the darkness. Thats when people surrender their wealons to rach other and hope thry dont rnd up stabbed in the night by them in the future.
Nor the grief I keep hidden like a precious jewel, a hard diamind made from the black carbon of my burnt-up heart.
A great follow up to her last book! Just when I thought I had Ava and Lisa's story figured out I was so so wrong. A few things I found predictablex but I loved it otherwise. Def. recommend!
When you dont mind you have to wait in line for dinner 🤣
Enjoying my dinner outside since its beautiful outside right now
Book lunch date
It's been a loooooooong time since a book made me cry. And for that I recommend it. If I can be emotionally compromised by an authors words then they deserve a solid review! It's a bit predictable but worth the read. There are some twists that you won't see coming that add suspense and mystery. The end will rip your heart out. 😭 #charrot
Started this one last night and I'm halfway through! I bought it so long ago that I had no idea what I was getting into but so far so good. A little predictable but everybody's got a secret and the writer has you wanting to know them all!

I am quite the fan of Sarah Pinborough, and while I LOVED Behind Her Eyes, I had to take a step back and acknowledge not all books can leave me with my mouth hanging open.
And this was a solid book!
Lisa is certainly an overprotective mother who just wants what is best for her daughter, Ava. But what secrets is Lisa hiding from earlier in her life?
And what if those secrets can‘t be buried in the past?
Predictable ending but great writing!
