I liked it. But I was ready to be done with the book. I am guessing because of all the stuff I went and still going through. I did enjoy the characters in the book. I rated this book a 3 out of 5 stars.

I absolutely adore all three titles under the Girls Meets Duke trilogy! If you are at all a spicy romance fan, a historical romance fan, and/or enjoy whit and banter in the books you read, then these should be a MUST READ!
This had a little too much insta-love for me, even by historical romance standards, which is a shame because I liked Penny and her animals. The humor in this one was well done, at least. A decent low stakes, light read for my Hawaiian vacation 😎 #romantsy
Third in the Girl Meets Duke series [yes, they‘re very quick reads!] Charming Lady Penny and her wayward home for castoffs are in for a surprise from The Duke of Ruin
The Bridgertons were my gateway romance. Now I‘m on a slippery slope of Georgian romances. I liked this one mainly because I loved the MC who loves animals.
TW: flashbacks of child sexual abuse

Today I discovered if you tap on the flower after returning an audiobook manually on Libby, you get a sweet surprise! 😱

I loved this!
Right from the get go, Penny is funny, charming, and loving and is just the opposite of Gabe who comes across as all sorts of gruff and "villainous" but is literally a cinnamon roll. A cinnamon roll!
This had me laughing at the absurd lengths that Gabe was trying to do everything within his power to not fall for Penny and in one moment, where Penny the total spinster goes for it, he falls 100% right then n there.
Okay, I wanted to love this book way more than I did. It is great. I just did not connect with it as much as the previous ones. That being said, the bromance of our heroes is real and I LOVE it. I could do a book of just scenes of these guys. Also, pregnant goat. I am excited for the next one and to see more scenes of the boys interacting. #romantsy
Another good book. It was a quick read for me and it didn't slow down and I really enjoyed this book as well
Gah this was so dang cute!! I thought the premise was absolutely ridiculous, but Tessa Dare‘s writing is so amusing it won me over. There‘s a foul mouthed parrot and a two legged dog in a chariot and a pregnant goat and two people who are perfect together in their brokenness. A perfect evening of a book. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 #romantsy
I totally gushed all over Tessa Dare as I fangirled over meeting her and hearing her read. I love her books especially the road trip in Spinster Cove series & the Castles books. She was lovely & seemed to enjoy my gushing. #romantsy #historicalromance #regency
1. Tessa Dare is truly a gem - this book is a phenomenal addition to the series and I absolutely inhaled it in one sitting. I have yet to read something of hers that I'm not completely enamored with!
2. My bag made it onto the flight! Yay! Never have I ever been so relieved to see it come around the carousel 😂. And thank goodness too, because my original flight out of Orlando is still grounded and not scheduled to leave for another two hours!
My flight home from Orlando was massively delayed (like 6+ hours delayed 🙈) so I wrangled my way onto an earlier flight into LGA instead of JFK. It will be a minor miracle if my checked bag made it on the plane too, but in the meantime it won't do me any good to worry about it so I'm digging into this gem of a book and hoping it will keep me distracted 🛫
I've been dying to read this one since the last book, and especially since I picked up a copy when it came out, but I only just got to it. I may have stayed up until after 5am reading last night/this morning. Oops. Totally worth it though. Tessa Dare novels are just too wonderful to put down. Girl Meets Duke books have been some of her best ever, this is no exception.
Loved this one. Aristocratic heroine lives alone with several rescue animals; heroine is a self-made man renovating and trying to sell the mansion next door. Tessa Dare's character's dialogue, friendships, and development are always excellent - this one is no exception.
Library haul part two!
Read 5 books this week and they were all solid reads.

This was another enjoyable Tessa Dare book. Penny and Gabriel each had overcome so much in their respective childhoods, but they both needed to grow more. They evolved together. I loved that Penny‘s menagerie of animals and her friends from the previous books in the series increased the humor. The humor helped to balance the more serious issues. My only complaint in the book is lack of resolution with her parents with regard to one issue.
Reading a Tessa Dare book is s as satisfying as sinking your teeth into a slice of delicious, melts in your mouth, chocolate cake. "The Wallflower Wager" is no exception. Penny and Gabe are beautiful together and don't get me started on the parrot. That Delilah is something else! LOL I give this one a 10/10. I can't wait for the final book in this series! ❤❤❤
Penny and the Duke of Ruin had me smiling to myself the entire time I was reading. No, really, do you ever watch a movie or show, or while reading, and you become aware that you have a grin on your face? And then you try to stop... only to start doing it again. Maybe it‘s just me... but anyways, this book had me doing that. It was so cute, so light, and Tessa Dare always makes me smile with her humor. Loved this one!
I LOVE Tessa Dare's books. This one involves Penny, who collects animals of all kinds, and The Duke of Ruin, who buys the house next door.
2 a BBQ then just getting ready to go to school

4 piano and violin but not as well as I did when I was in High School
5 🥳 will do #friyayintro
Weekend reading! I really like Tessa Dare‘s historical romance. They‘re humorous and light, which I feel I need right now. 💕 (hate that I had to use my thumb to hold the cover down lol. It kept curving upward. Sigh, my poor paperbacks: cracked spines, curved covers. But they‘re loved 😁)
Funny, sweet, quirky and romantic. I enjoyed this a lot. Maybe not quite my favourite of the series but still better than most of what I‘ve read in the last week. I was worried it was going to go too far into the quirky pixie heroine but it didn‘t.
Content warning: sexual abuse in the backstory which she talks about, also child neglect.
Tessa Dare is hands down my favorite historical romance author. Every one of her books is better than the last. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Adorably charming! Penelope has been my favorite character through the entire series and I loved seeing her HEA! The hero, the animals, and Penelope‘s perseverance and strength make this romance special 😄 #romantsy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Come for the romance, stay for the friendships (the male friendships were absolutely delightful).
I‘m so excited to finally read her new book! I loooove Tessa Dare‘s historical romances 😍😍😍
Fans of the series will appreciate this latest release. As always, I found the characters entertaining and the plot light, predictable, and fun.
Tessa Dare is one of my two favorite #romantsy authors for a good reason. I devoured the book in an evening. Her characters are fabulous-strong women who advocate for themselves and others, and swoony heroes. Her books are full of hilarity, and the steamier scenes are done tastefully. I enjoyed the development of Lady Penny‘s relationship with Gabriel Duke, and loved seeing the other characters from the other Girl Meets Duke series cast.
Tessa Dare can do no wrong when it comes to romance and this is no exception. Penny is strong, lovable, and so funny with all the animals. Gabriel is ruthless, conniving, and my favorite bad guy hero I‘ve ever read next to Chase in this same series. There was a hard story line running through this series I was so nervous at first but then just glad penny got the life she deserved and wanted. It‘s one of my favorite happy ever afters!
SQUEE! Y‘all, I‘m having a complete losing-my-shit fangirl moment! Not only did Tessa Dare like my tweet, she rated #Bailey 14/10! ❤️🤩❤️ #newfavoriteauthor #romantsy #fangirl #everybodylovesbailey #dogsoflitsy #pitbullsoflitsy #twitterstar #pibble
I have multiple books in progress, including library books whose check-outs I can‘t extend, but this arrived today and nothing else matters. #currentlyreading #romantsy #Bailey was kind enough to pose wit the book for me.

The Wallflower Wager is part of Girl Meets Duke series and I think this one cements the series as memorable, adorable, funny, socially relevant and most of all female empowering. I loved the humorous cameos played by the other characters from the previous books. I applaud the way Penny was able to get her own power back from a past that was too heartbreaking.
Another funny, cute and sexy 🔥 #historicalromantsy from a favourite author. It‘s the third instalment in the Girl Meets Duke Series -it‘s Lady Penelope ‘s turn to find her knight in shining armour - gotta love HEA
Delightful banter and adventures that involve a runaway otter, a pregnant goat, a two legged dog who frequently needs rescuing, the aforementioned parrot who has a quite salty vocabulary as well as a plethora of kittens make this one of my favourite books that I‘ve read this year. Medium Steam.
I'm on a roll this weekend and on to my 3rd book of the long weekend. I'm back to my ARCs. I needed something lighter as my last book was very heavy, and Tessa Dare always writes wonderful banter and makes me laugh. #romantsy
Hello, yes, new Tessa Dare book, with SO MUCH banter. I love it - banter between Penny and Gabe and, my favorite, banter between Gabe, Ash, and Chase in one scene that made me laugh so hard I almost fell out of my chair (there‘s also a dirty-mouthed parrot in this book and a clear homage to Mrs Danvers). There‘s also a darker side to this book, one where both Penny and Gabe have old wounds and scars that have to come to light. Penny is wonderful.
