If I hear the word bubbly or bogus ever again, it will be too soon. Holy cow, I swear both of those words appeared at least once every page, sometimes more than that. I enjoyed this book a little less than the first. I think it is following the same mold for every distopian. The same thing keeps happening to make her into the next thing as well, which is getting old. The writing is still not great. 3/5

Ignoring some pretty annoying choice of words 😂, this is a great story. This book is about being human, and the literal beauty and downsides of it. It is about seeing beauty in imperfections. It is about friendship, relationships, morality, and natural but questionable human emotions such as jealousy or fear. I am amazed how the author captures so much while giving a plot that keeps you engaged. One of the best YA reads.

The story is promising, there‘s a lot of good in there. But a lot of it is also very annoying. I didn‘t particularly enjoy the writing, or the characters, and I really despised the language/slang that was created for this universe. It drove me nuts 😂 maybe this would be better read than listened to… I dno!

Need some input, please!As y‘all can tell from my last review, I finished the first of this series a few days ago. The second had no wait list on my library so I started it just now. Early on, like VERY early, they casually drop the r-slur. That‘s a massive turn off for me. I don‘t like it, but I can get thru older books that use this kinda language, but this is what? A 2005 work? Bit of a turn off. Is this series worth it? Keep going or drop it?

It wasn't really easy to relate to characters, I don't know why. At least romance came almost as a surprise and it wasn't gradually builded.

I remember how I loved the first book, but this didn't have likewise horrifying atmosphere. There were scenes that had potential to get me scared but they failed doing that.

Story was good and I got to know new things about this world. The ending was also exciting and made me curious about the sequel.

Tally finds ways to be bubbly with the help of some friends. The second book to the Uglies series.

This was the follow up book to uglies. It was a great book but I was not as captivated throughout the second one as the first. It was still a book I enjoyed and am going to finish the series.

Not quite as good as the first one but definitely an interesting concept to continue reading about!

Tally finally becomes a “Pretty” - everything should be perfect for her now! No worries anymore! But why does she have this nagging feeling that something is not right? Will she ever remember the secrets she learned when she was an Ugly?

Dinner and a book.

Good story. I enjoyed this second installment of Tally‘s life. She seems to be a pretty amazing person. This is usually how it is with these kinds of books. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Much better than Uglies! It was a fast read and now I am wondering if I can finish the series this week!

Wasn‘t as good as the first. There was a lot of action that had me confused on what was going on. Hoping the 3rd is better!

I‘m exhausted but I made it with less than 20 minutes to spare! This was my third #24in48 readathon but this was the first time I completed it. Having to get up in five hours for work is going to suck. 😴

I just didn't care for this. The concept is really interesting and it could have been a really interesting book. The problem is the voice and the writing. I just couldn't get into it and didn't care for it at all.
