My #litsyHandle might seem pretty boring, but after 25+ years of the Internet, it‘s the only time I‘ve ever been able to use any version of my real name. Laura Jones is an extremely common name. For once I was a super-early adopter on a social media platform.

As for Maleficent, she is my favorite Disney Villain. I always gravitate more towards the villains and antiheroes. The ones who are misunderstood, those who just wanted to be happy and then went horribly off course.

1. Well my handle is just Miss + my nickname (Aimz bc my name is aimee) and then 55 has been my favorite number my whole life.
2. My avatar is the cutest cuddly picture with my girlfriends niece on Christmas Eve.

Colleen is my name. My parents pronounce it with the long o. Sometimes it‘s shortened to Co. Somewhere along the way someone started saying Coco and it stuck. Added the reads because that‘s what I do and voila! #LitsyHandle !

There‘s a story behind Bibliophage. About five years ago, my mom emailed me a dictionary.com word of the day and said, “This is you!” It was bibliophage, and she was correct. I was the kid who never looked out the car window, and who had to be forced to play if it meant abandoning my book. That didn‘t change as I aged.

I say biblio-faaaahhhge but some people say faaayyyyge. Either is correct.

My #LitsyHandle is my full name combined (Julie Hull = Jhullie) I‘ve used it for everything for years. I still pronounce it as Julie but I have been called everything from Juhullee to Zhoooleee. My avatar is my Bitmoji, I‘m addicted.

Meaning: lol this isn‘t very interesting but teebe = TB, my initials.

There isn‘t really a special story behind my handle. Dee is a shortened version of my name. The rest is just obvious. My other handles are more interesting plays on phrases LaDeeofLove and LuckyLaDee. Those didn‘t seem sensible for Litsy.

My handle here is from a quote by Oscar Wilde: " The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention ". I try to be kind, but I forget sometimes. This quote reminds me. Also, I'm kinda small and people used to tease me with it. Now I know that I'm perceived a certain way and I make use of it.

I‘ve used the handle @DivaDiane (sometimes with a number) in almost all my online things since I first went online back in 1998! I love alliteration and I‘m a singer (a diva is “goddess of song”. Diva=goddess in Italian).

It‘s a bit pompous sounding, but back then (and still occasionally now) I needed a little convincing that I was, in fact, a worthy diva and this was a bit of positive self-talk.

I wanted to play along even though mine is super boring. 😂 My #litsyhandle is just a combination of my college sorority (Delta Gamma) and my first name (Rachel). I‘ve never had a nickname and I have no imagination when it comes to choosing screen names. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My real name is Heather Garrison .

My #LitsyHandle is callunakeep, which is a play on my real name. Calluna is the botanical name for the flowering plant called Heather and Keep was closest related word to Garrison (an armed troop) I could find being a fortified tower or castle —- fortified by a garrison😝.

Joining the #LitsyHandle fun!

Mine is pretty simple. It‘s the name of my blog. I changed the name of my blog a few years ago when I started my library job and it has sort of become my online persona. It‘s the same as my Instagram name and my Twitter name is similar too (@thatlibrarian9). I probably should have gone with Ms. Librarian since students call me that a lot.

My name is Jessie and if I were to join Litsy today, perhaps I‘ll choose a shorter handle. My nephew, a big fan of Japanese manga series, pointed out that I looked like Erza Scarlet. I had my hair highlighted with red streaks then, and he will tease by calling me Auntie Erza. I sort of liked the idea of a fiesty red-haired aunt.🙄Bookgasm, I liken to intense pleasure in visiting bookstores, acquiring new books, smelling them..haha. #litsyhandle

My name is Barbara Wood, and I suppose my handle is a bit self-explanatory. I‘ve never liked the nicknames for my first name (Barb, Barbie, Babs... 😖), so my friends who like to nickname have had to come up with other options. A friend in college called me BarbaraJ, which over time became BarbaraJean. My middle name is actually Janette, and my sister‘s middle name is Jeanne, but I like the sound of BarbaraJean!

My friend was trying to say “kalder Katja” (calling Katja), but she stumbled over the words and it came out like ka-lalala-tja, said really fast. It stuck, and now I use it for all my online handles, because I‘m so bad at coming up with new, creative name ideas 😄

So a high school friend (we're still friends and still close) dubbed me TheShrinkette when I was in college because I was a psych major. I've stuck with that handle since first getting on social media five years ago (Twitter), and I've been debating extending it to TheShrinketteReads for some literary connection, but not sure if I should.

Not very original, I know! 🙄 In hindsight, if I had a do-over I‘d probably be “rockinrobin” (which I‘ve just now noticed hasn‘t been taken) or maybe
“batmanandrobin” or even “robinhood”. Lots of good choices available....oh well, I didn‘t give it much thought. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I went with the lowercase “r” just because I thought it looked cooler as a whole.

I usually always brought Hotpockets to work for lunch, so when one of the the louder guys started calling me ‘hotpocket‘ everyone else did too, because most people didn‘t know my name. Meaning/Background: it‘s a combo of my first and last name Chel (nickname) + Leo(nard) = Chelleo (pronounced “Shelly-o”). I still use my maiden name at work so matches/penpals sometimes get labels with McKinney.

Fantastic. Not only did Shoemaker truthfully and beautifully paint the Nebraska prairie & its inhabitants, she makes the reader experience the fear & pain that people of German ancestry & German immigrants felt during the anti-German sentiment that ran rampant coast-to-coast during WWI. Similar to what is happening today.

My next pick for #OperationNebraskaAuthor is the 2016 One Book One Nebraska Winner and in light of the world we're in today, it's tale of the immigrant experience and prejudice caused by nationalism during WWI is something we can relate to now.

Great story of the struggles of life in 1918 in Stuart, Nebraska. I had no idea there was such hatred towards German-Americans, even in Nebraska, during the war. Not only were they dealing with war drafts and prejudice, but then the flu struck and spread like fire across the plains. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This book details two epidemics: the hatred of the German immigrants and the influenza virus. A fantastic read.

Enjoying this book. It is about German farm families in Nebraska during WWI and how they were treated differently after the onset of war. An interesting look at what makes you the "other" in a community where you have lived for years. Timely.

Set in Nebraska during WWI.
