Such a slow, slow story but a very realistic scenario in the modern day DNA test taking Ancestry craze.

If you're in the mood for a lighthearted , feel good story then this is for you
I am all about the family dramas this month!
The three Sweeney sisters‘ famous author father has died. He was keeping hidden from them his knowledge of a fourth sister born from an affair AND a tell-all memoir he wanted posthumously published. Of course, there is drama and a bit of romance in each sisters lives separately while trying to get along in extenuating circumstances after being spread out for years. A definite lighter fare pick!

Yesterday's library haul. I can never resist getting more than I came for...
Celebrating the first day of spring with some spring-y covers!
A family drama with some lighthearted moments this deals with secrets & how/whether to preserve a family legacy.
When their famous author father dies Liza, Maggie, & Tricia are stunned to discover he's spent all his royalties, hidden his last book which is owed to the publisher, & fathered a 4th daughter! While they mourn, search for the manuscript, adjust to their half sister, & sort out their personal lives they grow closer. Made me wish ⬇️
⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book was just okay. I liked the premise that these three sisters find out they have a half sister after their famous writer father dies. But the execution was a little uneventful. It just didn‘t draw me in enough.
As the oldest of 3 girls (shout out to @TheArtsierTheBeckster and @BennettBookworm ), I connected to this portrayal of 3 close-knit sisters in their 30s whose father is a great American novelist. When the father dies, the girls are left to sort through his study and his secrets. When they discover a half sister they never knew about, everyone has to come to terms with what their family was and what it will be in the future.
A pleasant surprise! I enjoyed this family drama much more than I expected to. I can't say that the sisters were without irritating qualities (every single one of them); but, I was engaged enough in the story to let that go after a while. Maybe I'm just so desperate to like something I'm reading after a string of disappointments. 🙄 😂

Three daughters of a famous writer just got word that their father is dead. Bombshell: he also left behind another daughter, a girl they only knew as a neighbor. A fourth Sweeney sister causes some upheaval.
Cute story, good characters, enjoyable.
Thanks to Goodreads for the giveaway ARC!
I read an ARC copy of The Sweeney Sisters by Lian Dolan, released on April 28, 2020 following three very different sisters Liza, Maggie and Tricia as they cope with the death of their father and coming to terms with the unexpected legacy he left behind including a secret sibling. It magnificently highlights sibling relationships and bonding together through the best and worst of times. I found myself laughing and crying throughout it.

This book failed to hold my interest. The premise was good – The Sweeney sisters‘ father dies, and they throw an Irish wake for him. But the party is crashed by a half-sister they didn‘t know existed. But the pace was too slow for me and the characters not well developed.
First Goodreads giveaway win this year!
I really love this story and the Sweeney Sisters. This book covers alot of emotional ground and is told from many perspectives. It's a very thoughtful story with attention to its characters. I liked the end a lot, I can see myself reading over the last few chapters when I'm just having a bad day and need to catch a good vibe.
