This is my favorite Sarah dessen books. She is an amazing write.
Remy has perfected the timeline for her relationships until she meets Dexter, a clumsy boy who doesn‘t follow the rules of her timeline.
This used to be one of my favorite Sarah Dessen books, however reading this now, my perspective has changed and I don‘t find it as amusing as I did when I was younger.
Somehow, I missed Sarah Dessen‘s This Lullaby when I was a teen myself, but it was a favorite of my guest on this week‘s podcast episode — and I got to revisit it with her with a critical eye! (Hint: you might not love everything we have to say.) We chat about teen romance tropes, slut shaming, literary heartthrobs, and so much more. 🎼❤️ Link to listen in my bio!
This has always been my favorite book by Sarah Dessen 💜 I reread it for the first time in years. I love how after all she has been through, Remy finally learns that love is a worthwhile risk. Cute little love story!
Congrats @Megabooks !! The tagged is one of my all time favorite books, and I consider it a summer read because it takes place in summer and I first read it in the summer 😂😂

My church has a group of women who meet once a month for dinner. These wonderful ladies have become mothers, grandmothers, and friends to me over the years of being a part of the church and since joining them for most dinners over the last 2 years they have become an even bigger part of my life. They gave me this wonderful going away present and I thank them very much.
And yes those are suckers hiding in there....
Lord what can I say. I hate Remy, the MC. Lord how annoying was she. But I loved Dexter, and her friends who reminded me of my own great friends. Personally, I‘d have rather read the story from Dexter‘s point of view. Not my favorite of Dessen‘s work. ⭐️⭐️

So after a stressful hour wondering why I was missing two of Dessen‘s books and thinking I misplaced them, only to realize I probably checked them out of the library a long time ago, I signed up for a LibraryThing account. What an amazing app! I haven‘t even scanned in all my books! Im shocked that I have so many books!

I‘ve had this book since my early teens. And, even as a kid, I never liked marking my books (textbooks are different story), but there was no Litsy back then, no community of book lovers to share with, and I didn‘t figure out journaling back then either. So to compromise I would gently underline quotes in pencil, so I can easily erase when I needed.
But I feel this quote is important, especially in this day and age.

Went to the used book shop AND OH MY WRITTEN WORD! This is just one aisle. There‘s about 78 (that I saw, apparently there are other rooms with even more books) and the aisles are LONG, and as you can see, so filled with books they‘re even on the floor.

I know and love Sarah Dessen's voice already, and this book didn't disappoint my hopes of getting all the feels that I've got in her other books. She's a great author for balancing a line with her romances of introducing love but still allowing strong and empowered female characters.

One of my favorite Sarah Dessen books. How I feel about my husband and I. 💕 #Quotable #SpookyOctober
“Everything, in the end, comes down to timing. One second, one minute, one hour, could make all the difference. So much hanging on these things, tiny increments that together build a life. Like words build a story. One word can change the entire world.” #SarahDessen #ThisLullaby
Starting book number TEN of summer on this rainy Friday morning. I've been reluctant to read my first Dessen because I think I'll get hooked, but I've gotten hooked on quite a few authors this summer (Kacie West and Kristan Higgins to name a few), so what's one more??
I haven't even gotten to the books yet and I'm already in love 😂😍😍 @AprilMaesBookHabit and I will yell this at each other. #SummerSecretSanta

Watching her mother's string of failed marriages, Remy, who keeps every aspect of her life neatly organized, vows never to let herself love someone who will only let her down in the end. And then Dexter, messy, clumsy, and impulsive, stumbles into her life.
I enjoy the sensitive and realistic way that Dessen writes about love. Too bad she's about my age because I would have really loved her books when I was a teenager!
My all-time favorite Sarah Dessen book, the one that came out my senior year, I read it before I left for college 800 miles away from home. It still holds up on re-reads, because some things are universal. And the original cover is 💯🎯😻 #hatespinnerbait
Behold the origin of the classic Dessen-ism - "Hate Spinnerbait"! ????? #hatespinnerbait
And this is why this is my favorite Sarah Dessen book... 💜🎯💖
My audio and hardcover #CurrentRead for #riotgrams. I usually have several books going at once in different formats. After reading The Bloody Chamber, The Bear and the Nightingale is continuing to satisfy my fairytale craving. And Dessen writes great YA. I'm enjoying the narrator.
@bookriot has a great article about where to start reading Sarah Dessen's books. I'm currently reading This Lullaby, which is my third read from this author. If you are interested in YA that speaks to girls, Dessen is an author you should check out. Here's the link:

Some things don't last forever, but some things do. Like a good song, or a good book, or a good memory you can take out and unfold in your darkest times, pressing down on the corners and peering in close, hoping you still recognize the person you see there.
I am coming to terms with the fact that loving someone requires a leap of faith, and a soft landing is never guaranteed.
Love is needing someone. Love is putting up with someone's bad qualities because they somehow complete you.
This is one of my favorite Sarah Dessen books and it's one of the first ones I read. It got my obsession started. A must read!!
I'm a sucker for Sarah Dessen, so it was a fun fluke when I started working for her agent. #shelf #booklife
Dexter is one of my favorite characters ever, and I've had a huge crush on him since I was about 15. Although "man" is a bit of a stretch, as he is very much a boy.
This is how he is introduced and it is pure perfection, as he body checks Remy's chair into a wall.
(I can't get rid of that extra quotation mark, I'm sorry.)

This is the second book I've read by Dessen & I'm enjoying it so far!
