This is a great book to analyze those habits we have that are preventing us from reaching our next goals, then adjust them into allowing us to succeed in those goals instead. I loved the most how the author goes into the research and multiple life examples of people whose present habits or habit changes made a huge difference in their successes.

I have been reading this since October. So thank you #AwesomeApril for finally being the reason to finish this off since one of my goals was to finish one of the two books I‘ve had in progress for ages.

This was actually a re-read for me and it was good t have a refresher. I definitely need to apply a few things here to my life!

Andrew65 Sounds good. Well done 👏👏👏 2y

1/5⭐ The author said it was justified for a gambler to be held accountable because she could have stopped, despite all his discussion of neuropsychology & the case studies on the difficulty of habit re-wiring & the casino constantly, actively, & knowingly feeding her addiction. This judgment seems to feed his own superiority complex since it's immediately followed by how he got over an afternoon cookie habit. Deplorable. #bookspinbingo

The studies and anecdotes that Duhigg shares about habits are all really interesting. Perhaps if I had read the print version, I would have taken actionable notes about how I might apply some of the principles. While listening to the audiobook was entertaining, I didn‘t walk away with big take-aways. If you‘re looking for a book that helps in a more “how to” way to develop good habits and break bad ones, then I recommend Atomic Habits instead.

I like this take on habits because it covers personal and professional habits and I think it‘s so helpful.

Joining the readathon! This is my fist book. It‘s a reread. I always like to read a book about habits right before the new year as I contemplate what changes I want to make as far as resolutions.

Generally speaking, I attempt to coordinate my nonfiction and fiction books - but my current TBR is a bit scattered..
Sometimes you just want to learn about the science behind habit-forming, receive an overview of the 1920s, and feed your Gladiator fandom all at once.

If you want to read a well researched, scientific novel on how habits are created and sustained, this is the book for you.
Although if you're looking for a lighter read on Habits, the book Atomic Habits is great.

Probably a 3.7 book with some chapters better than others. I liked the chapters on Rosa Parks, grocery stores, Target, and keystone habits. Easy to read style but some parts were a bit of a stretch. Kind of interesting to think about as many of us have been forced to change our habits because of the pandemic.

We might not remember the experiences that create our habits, but once they are lodged within our brains they influence how we act—often without our realization.

Finally finished this #audiobook I started 9 months ago. I listen to so many podcasts, it was hard to stick with an audio book. I really began listening again a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it, but am ready to get back to all podcasts in my headphones 😊 This book is very interesting and the appendix gave some great practical tips to implement steps to change habits. #nonfiction

Cool video on how to read more books in our content-crammed digital age. Breathtaking footage of gorgeous bookstores around the world plus intriguing theories on forming a reading habit. They also include an interview with the fastest reader in the world. I guess they haven‘t heard about @Liberty Hardy. I still think she could run circles around this guy! 😆📚📚📚 It‘s 38 minutes, but worth the watch. https://youtu.be/lIW5jBrrsS0

A low 3. The topic is interesting and insightful, but it was just too long for me. While I enjoyed the anecdotes, it all felt super drawn-out. Interesting stuff in here for sure, just need a condensed version.

I switched to my #audiobook to get a few things done this afternoon during the #24in48 readathon! I love non-fiction in print form and love it in audiobook form too. I‘ve only listened to one fiction audiobook and it was a thriller that had me hooked so I would do things conducive to listening to it until I finished it! Hope everyone participating is enjoying the readathon! It‘s so fun to see what everyone is reading!

A very nicely written and insightful book. Wouldn't you just love to adopt good habits and live a happier and fulfilling life? The book explains how habits are made, how to understand and change them. Interestingly too is the study of collective habits of corporations and societies. Very interesting book, a must read for anyone interested in self-development. Highly recommend it.

A must read for everyone. Like most books, the brunt of it is proving the case for how to change a habit and why habits are formed, but don‘t let this deter you. It is packed full of useful information, ways to form better habit and how to overcome bad habits. Surprisingly straight forward is the method, meaning easy to understand and grasp.
