Since my trip to Quebec in May and learning about La Grosse Île etc I‘m looking forward to reading about an immigrant‘s journey and narrative as they settled in Canada!! #BookedInTime Tag @Cuilin & @dabbe when you know your chosen book.

A link for starters https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/75796.The_Canadian_Immigrant_Experience

Cuilin @LeahBergen thank you, I was hoping a Canadian would jump in 🍁 🇨🇦 🩷 2y
Karisimo I read this a while back, it‘s earlier than the time frame (1667) but interesting! It‘s more light than literary. (edited) 2y
Deblovestoread Yay, something I know nothing about. Love exploring new times, places, issues. Thanks for the recs @LeahBergen 2y
julieclair Ooohhh… I just got back from a trip to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, and heard a lot of interesting tales of immigration. Perfect timing! 🇨🇦 2y
rwmg Hmm, I don't think I've got anything relevant on my shelves but I'll have to look more deeply when LT comes back
2y
Cuilin @julieclair fabulous 2y

Cuilin @Coffeymuse thanks for the link 💕 2y
sblbooks I think this is set in the 60s but maybe a possibility 2y
Cuilin @thegreensofa oh looking forward to hearing about this one. 2y
rwmg @Cuilin @dabbe I might re-read this as the only thing I've got that seems relevant and fits the timeframe 2y
Cuilin @rwmg looks interesting, it‘s a series too. Have you read the series or just this book? (edited) 2y
rwmg As an adult I've only read the first 4 in the series. My grandmother loved the books and had the whole set. I used to read them when visiting her as a child but I don't really remember much about them from that time. 2y
Cuilin @rwmg I love that story!! Hope you enjoy this reread. 2y
dabbe Updated our spreadsheet! Let me know (@dabbe) of your books/scores/picks for all the books you've read for #BookedInTime so I can make our TBR spreadsheet SPECTACULAR! 🤩
