Here is my TBR for the unofficial #24in48. I‘m looking forward to a weekend of reading.
My end of year stats from GR. Not too bad.
The first Tommy and Tuppence book. I‘m giving this a pick, but Dame Agatha is much better at murder mystery than political intrigue. I felt this was a little slow at the beginning and the red herring was pretty obvious. It‘s one of the few Christies I figured out before the big reveal.
This was also my final book for 2019 (and I reached my GR goal). My first finish for #24B42020
This is my total for Day 1 & 2. I was traveling on Day 1 and hoping to read on the plane, but my seat companion was chatty (it was my mother, so I couldn‘t really ignore her like I would a stranger...). Day 2 I had a travel hangover and slept a lot. Hoping to get some decent time in today, but definitely nothing to do on Monday and Tuesday. I‘m hoping to finish two more books before 2020.
Woo-hoo. Looking forward to the end of the year readathon. I should definitely be able to make the 24 hours.
The first in a trilogy. It is set in the 500s Scotland. Very atmospheric! I enjoyed the beginning of the retelling of the Arthurian legend. Looking forward to book two next year.
1. The first in a great series.
4. Helping set up a winter‘s farmer‘s market, decorating
5. Will do!
My first finish of #mrbook1inamillion #litsypartyofone and #24b4monday. This is a total #blameitonlitsy and am I ever thankful. I adored the story of Deja and Josiah on their last night at the Pumpkin Patch. This was also my introduction to Rainbow Rowell, and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.
My TBR for today‘s #deweys24hourreadathon
Happy Reading to all readathon readers!
The final Parasol Protectorate Book, and boy am I going to miss Alexia, Conall, Lord Akeldama, Ivy, Madame Lefoux and the rest of the characters in this steampunk world. Gail Carriger did a great job of ending the series, while giving the reader enough to imagine more.
I look forward to reading her other series.
1. Pendergast by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child
2. Homicide or Psych (depends on my mood)
4. I‘m making my grandmother‘s dumplings and beef stew this weekend.
5. He does although he came to reading late in life. I introduced him to fiction a few years ago. Now he loves Agatha Christie.
I haven‘t done one of these in a while. I‘ve got several books going that I‘d like to finish or get close to finishing, so I‘m in. I have some things to do this weekend, so I‘m sure I won‘t make the 24 hours. My personal goal will be 12 hours.
Oh wow! This was wonderful, atmospheric and truly engaging. Usually with dual timelines I rush through one timeline just to get back to the one I enjoy more. That was not the case with this book. Both timelines were so well written and plotted. Willig‘s writing is so lyrical. I even read her acknowledgements 😉. Another great pick for #literarycrew buddy read.
1. Tagged - my current audio in the car
2. Renaissance Faire, grill out, relax
3. Mint chocolate chip or chocolate chip cookie dough
4. Piano and flute, piccolo in a pinch
5. Will do!
Wow! What a ride. This books was so atmospheric and had a wonderful gothic feel to it. It was a different take on the traditional ghost story. I can‘t wait to read the next in the series. Thanks to @Slajaunie for the copy of the book! I will be paying it forward and plan on lending it to my mom to read.
This was my final book for #14books14weeks. Thanks for hosting again this year @TheHeartlandBookFairy I loved this challenge!
And that‘s a wrap for another fabulous #24in48 readathon! I was able to read a lot of short stories and novellas, plus some half read books. My currently reading stack is back to a manageable level. Yay! 🥳
Quick breakdown of the stats:
Books Read: 6
Pages Read: 754
It was so much fun spending this weekend with my fellow readathoners. To all the cheerleaders, who may or may not have participated in the ‘thon... Thank you! 😁
Final finish for #24in48! I have almost reached the 24hr mark and won‘t finish another book, so this will be final finish.
As with any collection of short stories, some of these were better than others. I have added to my TBR with novels by a few of these authors. I enjoyed this #FallOPFiction with @Librarybelle and @CouronneDhiver and my other fellow readers.
Book 12 of #14books14weeks
Fifth Finish for #24in48. I only had one of the short stories remaining to read in this collection. I have been doing a lot of clean up of my currently reading stack during this readathon and am loving it!
This was a decent little collection of the inbetweens in the Sookie Stackhouse world. Nothing earth shattering but nice little stories.
Book 11 for #14books14weeks
Fourth finish for #24in48. I was half way through this audiobook reread at the beginning of the readathon. The narration was a little weird, as I‘m used to certain voices for Han, Leia and Luke... The story still holds up after 20 years, and I will continue to reread the trilogy.
Book 10 for #14books14weeks
Hour 18 challenge for #24in48: I enjoy a good #romance now and again. It‘s one of my palette cleanser genres after a long or difficult book. My favorite author is Julie Garwood. Although her modern romance/suspense novels are great, I truly miss her historical romances.
Here‘s a poorly taken picture of my Garwood collection.
My first finish for #24in48. The second book in the new Thrawn series. This is Thrawn‘s story before the events of Star Wars. This had more backstory of both Thrawn and Vader and delved into their complex relationship. The next book is supposed to be released Monday.
Couple of short books up next, I think.
Book 7 for #14books14weeks
Hour 12 challenge for #24in48. I love audiobooks! I always have one on my phone and one in the car for commutes. The top two are my current reads. The All Souls Trilogy is probably my favorite audios. I don‘t know that I would have finished them if it wasn‘t for Jennifer Ikeda and her expert narration.
I get the majority of my audios from the library.
Today is my 2nd Litsyversary! I found this fabulous group because of #24in48 (which I am participating in today, of course), and am so happy I did. Although managing my TBR has gotten exceptionally more difficult 🤣🤣🤣.
Thanks for being awesome, fellow Littens!
So I am finally settling in for the #24in48 readathon! I got in a little over an hour of my audiobook this morning while running errands.
This is also my Hour 6 #photochallenge. I think my current read is definitely #SFF. Looking forward to finishing this. The third installment comes out Monday and I‘m 3 on the wait list 🤞🏻.
It was just okay. I didn‘t really connect with any of the characters.
