Since banned book week is coming I thought this would be a next read
pickA memoir of Conroy's time teaching at a small school on Yamacraw Island in 1969. A desegregation coming-of-age story of sorts for him. It was interesting to see the origins of characters that appeared in his later books.

Did a Little Free Library crawl with @Offmybookshelf today. So much fun!
I decided on The Rebel Nun for #BookedInTime for the #EarlyMedieval theme and it's been sitting on my wishlist since January '24.
Two days ago I'm scrolling through ig and the cover catches my eye on a post from one of my local indie bookstores for an author signing on 9/26. I couldn't believe that not only would I finally get a copy, and meet the author, but that she lives in my city 💞
Now one of these days I'll actually read it 😂

Big plans this week for creating a small front patio where there was just a weedy mess, and redoing the cracking cement walkway with pavers. The pavers in this pic are just roughly laid out to test out pattern. Good thing we did that because we changed what we originally thought we were gonna do.

Went to the library with my daughter and granddaughter so they could get library cards. Paid a quick visit to the Friends Of bookstore 😁
My daughter and I binged Sister Wives last year when she and my granddaughter were living with us. It was a great nightly ritual for us to unwind together after busy days. Since Christine's book just came out, I figured I'd start at the beginning before reading it.
