Loose ends from first book are tied up. Kimball is a PI, hired by a former student (Joan) to find out if her husband (Richard) is cheating on her. Multiple POVs, let us understand events from the past, and tell us the story in the present. Lily Kintner makes an appearance. I enjoyed this book as much as the first one. One OMG moment for me! Overall, a very good read!

Make a great day everyone.
I think this book is even better than The Kind Worth Killing. I love the odd relationship between Lily and Henry, but Lily Kintner is someone not to be messed with, and the next book in the series, A Talent for Murder, bears this out. Murder, mystery, sociopaths, blurred lines between good and evil. I just love this series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not quite as tightly woven a story as the first in the series, at times it loses focus. However, the main story of the two teens that plan perfect murders is entertaining. 4⭐️
So, funny story. I wanted to read this book since I read The Kind Worth Killing, so I went online to remind myself what happened in book 1. After the whole summary including all the spoilers, I realized I HADN‘T read the first one at all! I still read this one and found it creepy and good, but I wish I‘d actually read book 1! I liked the beginning and middle of this more than the end, which felt a bit random. But overall I like this author!
1. A Fatal Grace - way behind on this amazing series by Louise Penny
2. Tagged but the reviews are not great. The Kind Worth Killing is a favorite.
3. No idea 😊😂

This sequel sure hit the spot…what are you reading?

If you‘ve enjoyed The Kind Worth Killing, you‘ll want to read this sort-of sequel. It doesn‘t matter if you haven‘t read the first book, however you‘ll get a better context if you did. But because this was published 8 years after the first book, I couldn‘t remember the details of the first book, which I think affected my enjoyment of this. There‘s no major plot twist, and the middle part was rather boring. The limericks were witty though.
I have enjoyed all of Peter Swanson‘s books. Some characters from The Kind Worth Killing reappear in this book but you do not need to read that one first to enjoy this one. There are spoilers, however, so if you intend to read both, read in order. It is worth it anyway.
I enjoyed this sequel to The Kind Worth Killing. The killer and the antagonist, Richard and Joan, meet on a beach resort in Maine and they conspire to kill Richard‘s cousin. Through the years, they continue their murderous actions while pretending they don‘t know one another. Their psychopathy, which begins at an early age for both, and their flippancy in discussing murder is just..wow! #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView
“In this spectacularly devious novel by New York Times bestselling author Peter Swanson, a private eye starts to follow a possibly adulterous husband, but little does he know that the twisted trail will lead back to the woman who hired him.”
I really liked the "prequel" to this, #thekindworthkilling but this one seemed to not quite hold together for me. You do need to have read the first book for full depth of understanding all the characters. It's another play on #strangersonatrain and interesting but I just couldn't really get into it. #klaus #catsoflitsy #petsoflitsy
Private investigator Henry Kimball is surprised to see a former student appear on his doorstep, asking him to follow her husband and confirm her suspicions that he's having an affair. Kimball, who was a teacher for only one brief traumatic year, takes the case but becomes entangled in unexpected ways. A twisty, riveting thriller for fans of Patricia Highsmith (and complicated poet / detectives).
My husband and I finished this book today, and we both loved it. I liked The Kind Worth Killing a little bit better, but that‘s only because the twists were truly surprising, but in TKWS, I already had an idea of the types of twists to look for, so I could predict most of them. It was really windy outside today. #audiowalk
A compelling sequel to The kind worth killing. Don‘t expect the usual who done it but do expect well drawn intriguing characters, wonderful addictive writing and a killer story. Highly recommend. Swanson never disappoints.

I found myself completely absorbed in this story. Some aspects were tuff to read about…so you may want to check on the trigger warnings. Otherwise…this was truly fantastic I think this was even more stunning than The Kind Worth Killing. It also had fantastic narration played by a full cast.
PI Henry Kimball is hired by a former student, Joan, from his 1 traumatic year of teaching to prove her husband is cheating. Kimball remembers that he was always unnerved by Joan, so when he finds the husband & mistress dead from a murder/suicide while he's following them, he wonders if there's more to it. What follows is a twisty, entertaining page turner, with several POVs & two timelines & managing to include the fascinating Lily Kintner from⬇️
I really liked the first book (“The Kind Worth Killing“)in this now two book series and it was lovely to revisit a couple of the characters in this one. The story unfolds slowly from different points of view and yet I enjoyed it. I found it clever with a couple of great twists. It is interesting to me that I like the character of Lily, who is also in the first book, in spite of the fact she is a killer. 4/5 stars!

Weekend mornings are the best 💛
A great follow up to “The Kind Worth Killing”. Peter Swanson is a go to for me…he did not disappoint ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
⭐️ The Sequel Worth Skipping. If you can suspend a good amount of belief, you‘ll like this, but if you‘re like me (sorry), this was pretty dumb. And I have a rule about books with pointless fictional school shootings. It‘s absolutely tasteless, especially in this ridiculous context. There‘s no space for that shit in my reading life. I‘ll never read Swanson again. #thankunext
#bookmail The Kind Worth Killing was one of my favorite books so hoping this is good 🤞
1. Fantastic, emotional, stressful, long (The Winners)
2. Nope
