What are the odds… I finally started this one and didn‘t realize there was a leap day reference in it 😆
So this was a bit spicier than I expected, (which I‘m okay with-not a complaint) and a fun romance between a writer who had terrible sex with a one night stand… only to be hired to ghostwrite his memoir. While working on the book, she agrees to help him learn how to be a better partner physically. Of course they catch feelings and it‘s complicated and messy and worth it.
In this romance novel, a ghostwriter in Seattle hooks up with a visiting actor (without realizing he is famous), only for him to be bad in bed. Then he hires her to work on his memoir and she starts giving him sex lessons. I usually think this trope is cheesy but here it worked well. A fun romance!
This was ok on #audio but fell a little short for me. Interesting characters, a ghost writer and former tv star, and the premise was quirky: a shy guy, bad at intimacy and an open, sex positive woman willing to help him getter better in the bedroom. It felt a little too focused on the physical and not enough on the emotional. It made both the romance, and the story, unbelievable. #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks
This book was so adorable. Initially went into it thinking it was going to be corny, lacking depth, with A LOT of spice. But it was surprisingly so much more than that. Loved itttt
Happy new year, readers! I read 27 books last year! Which is the most books I‘ve read in a year since forever ago. This year I want to read 30 (which was my goal last year, that I didn‘t reach. But it‘s ok!) I also want to take more photos of my books this year, which I used to absolutely love doing. So here‘s the first read of the year. 📚
🌶️ this book was MUCH spicier than expected! I loved their chemistry, fluff, and the story‘s sex-positive lens. I audibly LOL-ed during their first time because of the awkwardness. Fun overall!
This book was so fun. I want to get my own copy for future rereading - a sign of a great book ☺️

Finished this cowl while listening to the tagged #audiobook.
It reminded me a lot of two three other #RomCom books I've read this year. So what stood out where the inconsistencies of the MC's character and the cringe-worthy "sex ed" lessons.
I liked the author's other two books, but this one was more: "oh, I've read that in XYZ before" & "Lady, if you're not hung up on it, why do you think about it all day?"
Just started this. The MC is a ghostwriter. Not your typical genre, but thought I should tell you anyway, @Leniverse.

Picture shows her feline highness, #GhostCat, sitting on the blanket I had just folded and momentarily put on top of the book cart. 🤦🏻♀️
I won this absolutely beautiful dress and books from the amazing @jfkillsdarlings and @rlynn_solomon !
This dress is even more stunning in person and I have been wanting to read “Marlowe Banks, Redesigned”!
I also love @rlynn_solomon books especially “Weather Girl”.
I will be wearing the dress for my library staff days and to a play in January. I will be starting both of these books in December once I am done with my graduate class.
I loved Weather Girl (same author) but this one was too steamy. Only finished it because the non-sex scenes were so good. Banter spot on with good character development. Honestly, the whole book could have been a clean romance with a proximity trope without it and been fantastic but sex sells so she teaches him how to be better in bed. Anyway, I will be slower to pick up the next RLS title.
This author has officially become an autobuy for me. This book was so fun & sexy! Chandler has a one night stand that's the worst sex of her life, only to find out the guy she slept with is her newest client as a ghostwriter. When Finn finds out the truth of that night and is horrified, she agrees to give him lessons to improve. The communication around sex & relationships was so good & refreshing. Also great mental health rep with anxiety and OCD
This whole concept is my favorite thing, and Finn and Chandler were so well realized. Love that the third-act breakup wasn't done quite how I expected, especially since their whole relationship was SO sweet and banter-filled. No one does it like RLS. #romcom #contemporaryromance

This book instantly got added to my fave romance novels of all time. Now I need to buy my own copy since it was a library read. Such a fun story, with believable characters, a unique premise, and lotssss of steamy scenes throughout. I really felt like Rachel Solomon was inside my head just writing down all my thoughts. Will absolutely be reading more of her work.
A sweet and spicy sex positive rom-com that I enjoyed reading!
WE END UP AT THE PORTLAND WATERFRONT, A TREE-LINED STRIP OF sidewalk that hugs the Willamette River. It's early evening, the sun hanging low in the sky and autumn leaves crisscrossed overhead. In a month, all of them will be on the ground.
"I love the Northwest," he says.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sweet and spicy, this was a really fun read! It kind of reminded me of “The Kiss Quotient”, but with the gender roles swapped. It lost a bit of momentum for me towards the end for some reason, but there was a lot to love with this sex-positive and affirming romcom!#AuthenticBooks
This was a cute, low angst, steamy rom com. A ghost writer has a very bad one night stand, who turns out to be her next ghost writing client. I like this authors romances because they are actually rom-coms, do not have ridiculous, unnecessary, awkward third act conflicts and do have some steam along with a plot. I definitely recommend this one. 4⭐️
A steamy read, with a bonus “oh no, there‘s only one bed!” incident that had me giggling with delight. Chandler is a refreshingly sex-positive heroine, and Finn a very respectful student. Oh, and there‘s no stupid miscommunication break-up in the third act! Exceeded my already-high expectations 😍 Full review: https://keepingupwiththepenguins.com/business-or-pleasure-rachel-lynn-solomon/
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I am always excited for a new Solomon book, & this one did not disappoint! While it is a very spicy romance, it does not cross the line into trashy, which I think could have been easy to do, especially with this plot. But instead it is a funny, sex positive book about always feeling behind the curve and different ways fear can keep you from moving forward. If you don‘t mind a heavy dose of spice, this is one I definitely recommend!
The splayed open honest communication in this book was so refreshing that I had to make sure I mentioned it. There was no “saving face” or long breaks due to miscommunication. Rachel Lynn Solomon did what every romance reader begs authors to do, she made the characters talk to each other, not just about the easy things but the hard, embarrassing, vulnerable truths we have a tendency to avoid.
Hey I‘m back everyone! It‘s been a crazy, no good summer for me after getting back from TX. My paternal grandfather died extremely suddenly at the beginning of July and it triggered a terrible reading slump for me as I‘ve been struggling to deal with the manner of his death and my grief. Here‘s hoping a fun, fluffy book while the kidlet is at swimming lessons will help!
Rachel Lynn Solomon is a GEM and her adult books just keep getting better. Far from "instalove", this book actually starts with a one night stand that's... bad. But fate bring them right back together when she discovers he's a former heartthrob/actor from a once-popular teen wearwolf show, and she's the ghostwriter for his new memoir. Open, healthy communication and sexy time lessons ensue between comic cons, and the slow burning flame ignites ❤️
Currently reading an ARC of Rachel Lynn Solomon's July release. It starts off with what our main character considers a terrible one night stand. Excited to see where it goes from there.
