Always and Forever, Lara Jean
Always and Forever, Lara Jean | Jenny Han
Lara Jeans letter-writing days arent over in this surprise follow-up to the New York Times bestselling To All the Boys Ive Loved Before and P.S. I Still Love You. Lara Jean is having the best senior year a girl could ever hope for. She is head over heels in love with her boyfriend, Peter; her dads finally getting remarried to their next door neighbor, Ms. Rothschild; and Margots coming home for the summer just in time for the wedding. But change is looming on the horizon. And while Lara Jean is having fun and keeping busy helping plan her fathers wedding, she cant ignore the big life decisions she has to make. Most pressingly, where she wants to go to college and what that means for her relationship with Peter. She watched her sister Margot go through these growing pains. Now Lara Jeans the one wholl be graduating high school and leaving for college and leaving her familyand possibly the boy she lovesbehind. When your heart and your head are saying two different things, which one should you listen to?

This was the third and final book in the To All the Boys series. We get to see Lara Jean and company‘s final days of high school, future decisions and their final summer before entering a new world. While it did wrap up the stories of these characters, it was my least favorite of the books. I found these characters to have a little less sparkle than in the previous books. It‘s still a good story, and conclusion. ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 /5 ❤️📚

Beginning the third and final in the series To All the Boys I‘ve Lived Before. I watched the first two movies yesterday, after finishing the second book. I‘m not sure why I do that to myself. The book is ALWAYS better. They really changed a lot in the movies, and while I get why they did, the changes made actually affect the character development, IMO. ❤️📚

Lara Jean‘s senior year is coming to an end and she has to decide her future.

This time, Lara Jean is the toxic character in the book.

This was the perfect lollipop series fo read this month when things have been busy! I love a YA contemporary that has such strong family relationships, and Peter and Lara Jean are adorable!

I liked this one the least in the series. It wasn‘t bad. There was a lot of change, Lara Jean doesn‘t seem to grow, and of course the ever present college and relationships situations. I was really enjoying it in the beginning and then couldn‘t wait for it to be done.

In the most recent episode of the Unabridged Podcast, we discuss To All the Boys: Always and Forever, the Netflix adaptation of Jenny Han's Always and Forever, Lara Jean. We begin with our Bookish Check-in and were THRILLED to be joined by Shay, one of our Unabridged Ambassadors, who shared a book she was reading.⠀

We enjoyed digging into the high and low points of the adaptation (spoiler alert: we're all fans!) ⬇️

UnabridgedPod and were thrilled to bookend our earlier discussion of the first book and adaptation.

Have you watched this adaptation? If so, what did you think? If not, what's a recent adaptation that you enjoyed?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Again great character development in the third book. Jenny Han wasn‘t planning writing a third book in this series. But i am so happy she did. You follow Lara Jean and Peters journey on applying to college and the nerves that come with it. You see not only them individually developing but their relationship as well. Definitely my least favorite or three but i only think that‘s because I had to say goodbye to the characters.

I love a good YA series 💌 Sad this is the end because I adore Lara Jean. She's an old soul in her tastes but so sweetly naive in her inexperience. I hope the final movie stays true to the book, but maybe gives us a little peek into their college freshman year and even beyond.

Sidenote, I need LJ's perfected chocolate chip cookie recipe to see how it stacks up to my mother's 🍪

Honestly all the characters got on my nerves at some point except for Peter & maybe Trina. At the same time, I couldn't put this book down once I got into it. I love how it addressed real issues - college decisions, if & when to have sex, & families changing even when you're not there to see it. That age is a time of transitions & fears about making the right decisions & I enjoyed seeing that reflected. It was sweet & even made me a bit emotional.

This sweet trilogy hit the spot. I needed a lighter read and Lara Jean's nostalgic nature was perfect. As she and Peter navigate their senior year and consider their future, she never loses her optimistic outlook. Also, if you're reading them, prepare to crave some baked goods!

“You can't protect him from being hurt, babe, no mattter what you do. Being vulnerable, letting people in, getting hurt...it's all a part of being in love.”

This was probably my least favorite of all three of the books but it was a good ending to the series. It took a million turns but omg I will never get over the Lara Jean Peter kavinsky love story. I liked reading this series because Lara Jean is probably the exact opposite person to me. I‘m more of Chris lol and I just really loved reading her make probably every single decision different than me.

sarahlandis Unrealistic love stories are my favorite because aren‘t all love stories a little unrealistic? It‘s all beautiful and sappy and vulnerable even in real life. I also love how much this book focuses on other loves. It isn‘t just about LJ and Peter, it‘s about her love and care for kitty, her love and admiration for Margot, for her dad, for Chris, for opening up to Trina, to never forgetting her mom. It‘s a love story in every sense.

Loved the first book, the second was still good, but this one fell a little flat for me. Don‘t get me wrong, it was still a cute story. It just didn‘t have the same magic as the first book in the series in my opinion. I felt like I kept waiting and waiting for something interesting to come, but it was a little lackluster and slightly boring.
