The moment the little girl comes into the toy store with her mother and makes eye contact with the teddy bear I knew they would be connected with each other.

Corduroy is a classic novel. This adorable heartwarming story that all children should be exposed to in their life time. The illustrations are incredible and beautifully colored. The illustrations are in more of a sketch like drawings and the colors used in the illustrations are calm and inviting. The images on the pages don't take up the whole page but are detailed enough that you don't even need to read the words.

My parents and older siblings read to me. (I‘m 15, 17 & 19 years younger than my siblings) One of my earliest memories is of my mom reading Corduroy to me. It‘s still my favorite picture book.

First was Corduroy then Encyclopedia Brown.

There are many different variations of the original book that I would love to incorporate into my classroom.

Picture Book. Published 1968. This is another amazing classic children‘s picture book that I read growing up. This is a great read and was also mentioned as one of the “Teachers Top 100 Books for Children”. One of my favorite books of all time!

This is the first book I remember reading during our weekly students read to students time in first grade. I loved reading to my classmates just as much as I loved Corduroy. Now I love gifting this.

I like you the way you are.

This is the perfect book to relate to early childhood education . Many of these students still have baby blankets and stuffed animals and might feel nervous to leave them for school. This will help show them they will be waiting for you when you get back.

Corduroy, published in 1968 was the perfect read for a picture book. It is one of the most popular picture books and is needed in the classroom . It teaches children to have hope and to always think positively.

This book is a cult classic and helps students think about toys that may appear to be broken but may just need support and care from the right person.

In Corduroy, the illustrator used lightness to help the viewer distinguish the different times of day in which the story takes place. At the beginning of the book, the illustrator uses lighter color to portray that the story is taking place during the day. At night, the illustrator uses darker, more ominous colors to portray that it was night time and the toys were coming to life.

While the next coat of paint dries on the #littlefreelibrary I thought I'd set this outside. Another family dropped off another wagon load of books yesterday. I'm not even sure when I'll be able to have a grand opening, meanwhile the stash of books is getting higher.

This F, RA White Read Aloud award winning picture book is beloved by many! The theme of this book is hope and perseverance. Corduroy is a teddy bear that lives in a department store who has struggled to be purchased. Because of a lost button on his overalls, a young girl is unable to convince her mom to buy him. In the end, both corduroy and the young girl hold out hope and work towards finding a solution to their problems. #UCFLAE3414SP21

A little girl named Lisa see Corduroy and instantly falls in love and wants to bring him home. Unfortunately, her mother sees that he is flawed and refuses. This book brings back so many memories! It‘s about a bear named Corduroy that is in a mall and he just wants an owner! He adventures through the mall when he realizes his button on his outfit is missing. It‘s an easy enough read that it should be good for IR. Don Freeman‘s classic character, Corduroy, in which a bear leaves the safety of his department store shelf in order to do almost anything to be adopted by a little girl. This RF fiction book would be great for a LC to discuss the adventures on Corduroy.

This book is a classic. The tale of a little bear missing a button and wants a home but nobody wants to buy him. Corduroy won the Indies Choice Book Award. This Fantasy book is great for a Read Aloud. Readeritethink.org has a couple classroom resources available. One of my favorites is letting one student take a stuffed bear home each night and recording their “adventures” together. #UCFLAE3414SP20

I only buy books about once a year so when I do I have fun! Mara‘s going to have to listen to Corduroy in Spanish, though because I missed that it isn‘t the English version. 😂

This book is about a lonely teddy bear who searches for his button so he can be sold and a little girl who wants to buy him. The illustrations have popping colors and sketch like outlines that go well with the book.

I remember this story from when I was younger, I would use this in my classroom as a cute and adventurous story and as a fun read

“I didn't know I lost a button!“ This is what Corduroy says to himself when the little girls mom said she couldn't buy him because he was missing a button on his pants.

I loved this book growing up! I thought Corduroy was so cute and I loved following his adventure to the mall. I had a stuffed bear that I loved as a kid, which is why I think I liked this book so much.
