pickSo much fun! Imaginative, wholesome, but modern in sensibilities. Loved seeing the ace rep, could benefit from a bit more diversity, character-wise. Here's hoping the next volumes are just as good!

Starting off my morning with a graphic novel and hot tea. Tea might be a bad choice though. I‘m in the south and it‘s already 85 degrees.
pickJughead is my favorite character of the Archie comics so I loved all the wacky hijinks he gets into with his solo comic. Not a huge fan of the art style though.
pickThis was a little ridiculous at times because of all the dream sequences but overall I think it was a good update. I don't think he's as crazy about food as the original though!
Read thru the 1st and 2nd volume yesterday and am looking forward to finishing the 3rd today. Chip Zdarsky, Erica Henderson, Ryan North, Derek Charm and everyone else who has contributed to the return of Jughead, the best awkward burger fiend/rad teen should get a "you have made the world a better/happier place" award
bailedI wanted to love it. I was the biggest Archie Comics fan growing up. There were some funny moments, but I guess this wasn‘t for me. I made it over halfway, and then I couldn‘t pick it back up. I just have too many other books calling my name.

Okay, I know I‘m super freaking late but wow, Jughead is just the sort of laugh out loud book that I need in my life right now. I‘m so glad I went to “The History of the American Comic Book” session at the Alaska Library conference a couple weeks ago. It inspired me to read funny graphic novels and I AM SO IN LOVE!

pickLitsy! I miss you when I'm busy with school. 😢Jughead is my favorite Archie character. I hadn't read any of the comics in years, but I picked this up after I got addicted to the show Riverdale. I love Juggie in this. I appreciate that he is asexual in the comics because I know there isn't much representation of that out there, but I love the Jughead/Betty relationship in the show so much that it was hard to not have them together in the comics.
I shamelessly binge watched Riverdale, and I am now obsessed with Jughead and Dark Betty. So what if I am 40-years old and watching a show meant for teenagers? ALL JUGHEAD ALL THE TIME, I SAY. So I of course had to pick this graphic novel up at the library.
pickToday's #PrideRec is "favorite queer character," and my brain jumped to a dozen characters from graphic novels. There's something special about seeing queer characters illustrated on the page. I settled on the (implied aromantic, touch-averse, but on-page) asexual king-of-my-heart Jughead. He loves his dog, spends half the book daydreaming about sci-fi and fantasy scenarios he could be living, and is an utter blast to read about.
I loved Archie comics when I was a kid, so reading the Jughead spinoff of the reboot is an awesome way to spend the afternoon recovering from yesterday's #readathon. Yes, I'm aware that I'm reading to recover from reading. You guys get me. 😆

Comics I've read since downloading Hoopla earlier this week 😂 Glad I was finally able to finish Alex + Ada (I read vol. 1 over a year ago, but the library never decided to get the next ones) although the ending wasn't very good 😒 Jughead was really fun. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue The Wicked + The Divine (but I might, since vol. 4 is also on Hoopla). It's ok, but I don't see the appeal of it the way other people seem to.

pickThis both is and isn't the Jughead I remember reading in the '90s. I love the updated storylines and style. The artwork is fantastic (though I kept expecting Squirrel Girl to pop up), and the story was intriguing, if a little confusing at times with interludes. I love that Jughead is ace, especially as it doesn't appear to have changed the character's personality at all; it just fits. Will definitely continue with this series. #graphicnovel

pickThis was a really funny comic. I've never read any Archie comics before so this is a first. Erica Henderson's art style is perfect for this kind of zany comic. Also I'm so happy to read something with a legit asexual main character! I recommend giving it a read.
