It took me a while to read this because I wanted to savour the beautiful writing , story telling and wisdom of Niall Williams. A wonderful story of life , love and happiness . The narrator was a joy to “ listen “ to.
This is one book I think I could listen to as an audio book.
A tale of a time in Ireland when things were simple but technology in the form of electricity was spreading .
A look at one small village . Insightful. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So, back when Oprah started her book club, I was super into it and read quite a few of the first books she chose. This beauty was one of them. Decided to reread it this week and I‘m so glad I did. It‘s still wonderful, and 20 years later (omg I‘m old) it still resonates. Would you believe this is the only Wally Lamb book I‘ve read? 🤦‍♀️

CBee @squirrelbrain I always loved the cover. This is the original one I bought 20 years or so ago! I found a couple places where I dog eared the corners to mark my place - gasp - I haven‘t done that in years! 2w

Reggie I felt so bad for that girl in here. I remember to lose weight she imagined mold on her food. And that her grandma dies before she gets a chance to visit her but she finds her way to be ok in the end. 2w

The Saturday Night Ghost Club: A Novel | Craig Davidson

I no longer cry easily, but this turned out to be a rougher book than expected. Good character development despite its short length. These are characters I would miss greatly if they were people I‘d known.
