I love this book. I'm listening to the audiobook and it's so fascinating. I'm not sure I could've read the hard copy and been able to sleep at night. Last time I read a similar book was #Illbegoneinthedark and it creeped me out so much.
Also, the more I stare at this cover the creepier it becomes.

As expected, not much reading this week, due to first week in a new job. Brain is even more fried this weekend so not sure how much more reading there will be.... I‘m halfway through the Ishiguro and it‘s a simple, but enjoyable, read so perfect for right now.
The other two books were fab, so quality not quantity this week!
Also, Mayflies is a #covercrush but the Ishiguro cover gives me the creeps for some reason!

The only thing that I can say at the moment is that the original title is so much better than the italian one!
The italian one translated it would be something like 'The museum of horrors'... no, the original one is so damn perfect! It has a completely different sound 😍

This book is simply mind-blowing. I had no idea of the religious legacy we still have nowadays towards women. The Sacred Books of every religion consider the woman an inferior and mere posession of the man, and religion has always been a big part of our heritage. This is why we have to fight so hard now to make ourselves be considered as equal. This is why we sometimes don't consider ourselves as equal 👇🏼
I started this today, and I'm already 1/2 through it. I'm pretty positive it hasn't been translated in English yet, but the title is "God hates women". It's volutarily provocative, meaning that it tries to explain our cultural roots through religion and how it still impacts us not only in positive ways such as "don't steal, turn the other cheek, etc".
It goes deep into infibulation, menstruation, patriarchal hierarchy... it's sadly interesting.
