After leaving general practice in rural Scotland, Dr Tom Smith went to work for a pharmaceutical company then embarked upon a writing career. Here, he anecdotes from those times in his life alongside the locums assignments he did to keep a foot in medicine. He‘s a delightful storyteller and I enjoyed this completely.

Wow!!! This book

Here Cat Bohannon is talking about sound and different wavelengths that men and women hear up to.

Who knew that men actually stop hearing high pitched noises?

squirrelbrain I need to read more of this one - got distracted by others from the list, which are library books so need to go back soon. 10mo
Crazeedi This sounds very interesting, and yes my husband just got hearing aids, his high pitch sounds are basically gone in one ear. Stacking #Litsytbr #mountaintbr 10mo
WildAlaskaBibliophile That's interesting. My dad who is profoundly deaf can hear high-pitched squeaking noises but has difficulty understanding speech. 10mo

AnneCecilie @squirrelbrain I‘m learning so much from this. But I absolutely understand the need to read library books first. 10mo
squirrelbrain And then of course there‘s the Fiction long list tomorrow! 🤯🤪😃 10mo
AnneCecilie @Crazeedi The book says that men start loosing the ability to hear high pitched sounds from the age of 25. 10mo
AnneCecilie @WildAlaskaBibliophile The book doesn‘t explain that 10mo
AnneCecilie @squirrelbrain I‘m looking forward to it. I hope I have read some, but I always look forward to what completely new to me author will be there that will be a new favorite book/ author 10mo

I F*CKING LOVE ANNA KENDRICK!!
This books is hilarious and you can‘t go wrong comparing Zac Efron to Charles Manson. The charming and charismatic part, not the murdery cult part, although.... #litsytbr

Thanks @squirrelbrain for the lovely book and postcard!

Really glad you enjoyed the hunger games, and I will give this a read once I have finished my book for #LitsyAroundTheWorld :)

Also you should definitely try some fantasy! One of my fave genres (and paranormal romance) ☺️

I decided to actually reference my #LitsyTBR and whittle away at it from the beginning! Lol, got this from the library for some #audiocrocheting. 😄

2BR02B I've had this on my audio TBR for ages. Looking forward to your review! 7y

This was NOT a cozy mystery like I thought. It was a silly, sly, madcap plan to make money off vain, rich California socialites. Cute palate cleanser. Book 1 of #LitsyPartyofOne and another off my #Litsytbr for Kindle.

Booksnchill @Laura317 ohh want to read this now!! 7y
ValerieAndBooks Glad you enjoyed it too!! 7y
Laura317 @Booksnchill It is cute! @ValerieAndBooks I surely did - even though I thought a book club member would get murdered. 7y

The song, #ChampagneSupernova makes me think about teenagers with problems. Teenagers living hard lives. Teenagers fighting battles that are hard to understand.

In some of these books, the teenagers overcome their battles, and in some of them, they don't. It's hard, but important reading.

Jess7 Nice choices! Several of these are on my #litsyTBR list 7y
Robothugs Very good choices 😊 7y
Kalalalatja @Jess7 I would recommend all of them! 👍 7y

Kalalalatja @Robothugs thanks! 😊 7y
Jess7 Ive heard good things about A Little Life (purchased it as a kindle daily deal today actually - only $3.99) and I've read 7y
Jess7 Asking For It and The Goldfinch are both on my #TBR but I don't think I've heard of The Power (edited) 7y
Kalalalatja @Jess7 The Power won the Bailey's Prize for fiction this year. It is told like a history of how every girl in the world got the ability to send electrical power through their hands. It was a really interesting read! 7y
Jess7 @Kalalalatja send electrical power through hands? I'm confused? 🤔 7y
Kalalalatja @Jess7 Asking For It is a pretty tough read, but worth it in my opinion! And The Goldfinch and A Little Life took my feelings all over the place! 7y
Kalalalatja @Jess7 well, it's hard to explain. Something about a mutation that gives girls some form of power to send electricity out of their hands when they touch another person. It sounds more superhero-y than it is 😄 7y
