Ramayana is one of the two epics (the other being Mahabharata) in Hindu mythology. 'Sita' is the retelling of the same. I am going to read Devdutt Pattanaik for the first time. Excited, definitely ('cause have heard good things)!

The Painted Girls is a pick based off of the back cover blurb, it read interesting! Has anyone read?

Lindy I listened to The Painted Girls and would recommend the story, especially since the subject appeals to you. I reviewed it here: https://lindypratch.blogspot.ca/2013/10/the-painted-girls-by-cathy-marie.html?m=... 2y
GlassAsDiamonds I‘ll be fascinated to see what you think of the Sita... as much as I want to get into the story, the ah, ending.... I just *can‘t* but probably I‘m missing something! 2y
Tanisha_A @BookishMe Nope. Very story book like! 2y
Tanisha_A @ElishaLovesBooks Thanks for the quick review. 👌😀 Look forward to reading it! 2y
Tanisha_A @batsy I shall definitely let you know! 😀 2y
Tanisha_A @Lindy Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Will read and share mine! :) 2y
Tanisha_A @GlassAsDiamonds I have grown up listening to these stories, so for me the experience here would be more about taking in the writer's way of telling the story. I shall let you know nonetheless! 👍 2y
InsatiableBibliophile Try reading Asura: The tale of the vanquished, by Anand Neelkanthan. It tells the story from Ravana's perspective. :) 2y
GlassAsDiamonds @Tanisha_A 😊😊😊 That makes me look forward to your thoughts even more 😊 2y

“From one of the fiercest critics writing today, Morgan Jerkins‘ highly-anticipated collection of linked essays interweaves her incisive commentary on pop culture, feminism, black history, misogyny, and racism with her own experiences to confront the very real challenges of being a black woman today...” #TBR #ThisWillBeMyUndoing #LibraryBooks Day 24: #BorrowedBooks - #MarchInBooks

Thought I‘d jump in on the last week of #MarchinBooks! Book of the day at my library is The Boat People, which has been on my radar quite recently. “The Boat People is an extraordinary novel about a group of refugees who survive a perilous ocean voyage only to face the threat of deportation amid accusations of terrorism...” Can‘t wait to get my hands on it! #BorrowedBooks #March24 @maich
