so-soJeff Tweedy is a great musician, lyricist, and interview. He‘s no stranger to a good quote. This book is full of them.
Yet it‘s just okay. Some of these songs mean nothing to me; others I‘m in lock step with Tweedy, but for different reasons. Isn‘t that the point though? Don‘t we ALL have our own world within songs?

I watched Coffee & Cults deep dive video on JLo & Diddy this last week, & I can not believe this is not more known. They built JLo's entire music career around stealing other artist's songs, samples & vocals(allegedly). I had always thought it was weird that she didn't sing in the Selena biopic, never sounded the same in any of her songs & was autotuned so much, now I know why. No wonder Mariah called her out so much.
pickLike a Wilco song this just washed over me in the best of ways. I‘m not at the point of writing a song, but could relate his feelings and ideas to my other creative practices! And he is so right when he says every one of us should experience creating something.
pick⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dahlin', if you only knew- Always been a Mariah fan and I enjoyed the insight into her growing up and how she got started in the industry. She a beautiful writer and the memoir is full of prose and metaphors ❤️ if you are a fan I recommend. Many recording studio pages with a ton of name drops if you are into that. But loved reading where her inspiration came from for the songs she wrote!

Wonderful series of interviews between Cave and an Irish journalist/friend that took place over the COVID years.
They do discuss Nick‘s influences, music and his formative years in Australia, but mostly the discussion relates to his spiritual and religious views, work ethic and the grief experienced in the aftermath of the death of Arthur and, to a lesser extent, his mother and Anita Lane.
Very thought-provoking.
Book 116 of the year. This was a fascinating book about Korea, Seoul and the explosion of K-Pop.
