I loved this little book. I picked it up on a whim but it might be one of my favorites for this year. #17-2024
Queen Elizabeth II's first investigation with an assistant private secretary - in this case a dependable, clever woman named Joan McGraw who had an "interesting war". When the Queen fears there may be a plot to sabotage her State Visits and murders in an acquaintance's house that may link to the Royal Family (however obliquely), she brings in Joan to help make discreet inquiries. An interesting denouement and I am half in love with Hector Ross.
I loved this book! Not especially deep but a sweet story.
I‘m really enjoying this series - Rozie is great and there‘s something delightful about the Queen solving mysteries. Bennett rounds out her cast of characters nicely, this time with a couple of quirky aristocrats and villagers, and constructs a fun little romp of a mystery.
I really loved this quick read. It‘s not my normal genre but I loved the humour in it and the ending was perfect!
My reading buddy. Keeping me company this morning. She loves sitting on her humans laps
Will start reading this ebook tonight.
