Puddles recently had his “snip and clip”, so he hasn‘t been allowed to go out to race in the snow until his stitches are all dissolved. So, our spoiled little boy has been getting indoor snow deliveries. 😂

pickXelena Gonzales draws on a lot of autobiographical recollections to tell this fictional story of a grandfather teaching a young girl some of their mestizos customs and beliefs. It is easily one of the best illustrated picture books I‘ve ever read. Circles are a main theme of the story, and on a number of the pages the words arc through the pictures integrating the two much in the way graphic novels occasionally manage. #BBRCPictureBookLetterA
Although an adult may want to label this book LGBTQI+, I'm not sure that a child would. Regardless of gender identity or expression, kids like painting their nails & playing with color generally. In any event, I'm pretty sure everyone needs a Dadaji (grandfather) like the one in this book. We have a workshop this weekend and this is one of two books we're giving to participants. #PictureBooks
