I just finished watching The Tudors for the first time. While Jonathan Rhys Meyers looks nothing like the real Henry VIII, I think he did an excellent job portraying this egomaniacal king. It‘s my first time exploring the other wives of H8 besides Anne Boleyn, and I have gone down the rabbit hole, downloaded about 60 books relating to it all. 😬

This is from the episode of Mad Men where JFK was assassinated. Betty is at home watching the news when Carla, the maid, comes in all distraught. Betty has to tell her the president is dead. They sit on the sofa and smoke cigarettes together, sharing their grief.

I recently binge watched The Serpent Queen on Starz & LOVED it. It‘s about Catherine de Medici, who was the queen regent of France in the 1500‘s. The show is based on the tagged book. It plays loose with history & has a magical realism element to it but I loved every second of this show. Catherine was such a badass. 😎
