It was so wonderful to return to Australia and Aaron Falk! This time, Falk is on a vacay of sorts and is reminded of a tragic disappearance the prior year. Yet, as he looks a bit further into things, something just does not quite add up. Leave it to this flawed yet patient and honest guy to try and figure out what actually happened. Don‘t blink, or you‘ll miss the clues.

Oh man, was this pure smut! I‘m pretty sure she had sex for hours and hours every day. Riley is a werewolf and they basically just need to be naked and have sex the week leading up to the full moon. There are vampires in this world and a whole bunch of other magical creatures. A lot of government regulations too. I will continue with this series. Since I liked the world building and characters.

Really, really enjoyed this one! I don‘t read a whole lot of thrillers, but saw this one suggested in a #52bookclub23 group for #setinaustralia and it was a page-turner! Well, whatever an audiobook page-turner is. The characters are so interesting & the pacing is great. Quick without being confusing, even when the flashbacks are mixed it. And the author does a great job of making pretty much everyone seem like a suspect. I loved it!

Yay!! My #LastFirst was SO GOOD!!!! Definitely my favorite from Jane Harper and a wonderful addition to her Aaron Falk series. A mom of two goes missing at a local fairgrounds- was it foul play or did the stresses of motherhood lead to her disappearance ?? I haven‘t posted in a bit because it‘s been a crazy couple of weeks with my father in the hospital and flying to see him. This may have affected my review of this book as I started it before Dad got sick and finished it when I returned home. I would put this between a pick and a so-so. There are some lovely moments and I read parts of this book with my heart in my throat. However, as it ambles along it never really goes anywhere in the end.

Can Jane Harper do any wrong? I didn't love this quite as much as The Lost Man but her damaged characters and focus on their natural environment is still so good.

Book 17 2021 - I finished this one on my hammock this evening. Although I found some of the subject matter difficult to read the writing was exceptional and I will definitely be picking up more by this author. I highly recommend this book but there is a trigger warning for harm to children. Another book ticked off #booked2021 #setinaustralia

I‘d forgotten how much I love Liane Moriarty! I didn‘t particularly like Nine Perfect Strangers, so I hesitated picking up another one, but I‘m so glad I did! Two love stories involving one man and his current girlfriend and his ex-girlfriend turned stalker. The view point changes between the girlfriend and stalker.
