"Was he awake? Or was he dreaming?"
Such a great ending to the trilogy. Literally chuckled out loud a few times and teared up at the end.
Anyone know if this is truly the end of the journey for the Lynch Brothers and the Raven Cycle crew?

43 Books this year; my goal was 40. A busy and crazy year so I'm glad to have reached my goal even if it's less than past years.
Tagged my favorite of the year. I reread the whole series this year, and I just love it so much!

Does anyone know of an illustrated version of The Chronicles of Narnia? I'm look for an unabridged version, and the pictures don't have to be colorful or overly detailed or anything.
I have been reading the OZ books to my 5 year old, and we're ready for a change. The pictures just help keep her interested amidst all the text.
Thanks in advance!
Completely forgot that I pre-ordered this one, but I can't wait to dive in. Loved the first two. 😁

Actually pretty excited for these! :)
⭐⭐⭐⭐
A really cute story. Linus is a caseworker for the Department in Charge of Magical Youth and is assigned to an extraordinary case.
I LOVED getting to meet the magical children he gets to know. Shout out to the best bellhop ever! :)
My niece says Percy Jackson is better than #HarryPotter...
we'll see about that...

The story opens with Cassidy's death and then jumps between timelines and POVs to explain how we got there.
I'd read several reviews about how *lighthearted* this book is... did we read the same book? I understand the author was exploring depression, but the main character never experienced anything positive at all. The quote is from a note by the author, and I think Cassidy and the reader really needed these moments left in.

Annoyed with #botm shipping. I picked my box on 7/31, and here I am on 8/5 and technically USPS doesn't even have it yet? My books are usually here by now. 🤨
PA> IL> PA is a weird detour to get to Maryland...
I've been on a dry spell with new books lately, I keep buying them but keep rereading old favorites instead. 🙃
Maybe one of these will do the trick!

One of my favorites of all time, and I was due for a reread. ♡ A truly magical book. Morgenstern's descriptions transport me to this mysterious circus like nothing else (can you smell the chocolate and caramel? Or is it just me?) :) Performed for audible by the unbelievably talented Jim Dale.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thoroughly enjoyed this sequel to The Vine Witch. We get to learn more about one of the first novel's interesting witches.
No spoilers, but I LOVED the way they went with protagonist's ancestry. Another fun summer read!

⭐⭐⭐⭐
I picked this one based on the pretty cover, and I have ZERO regrets.
A fun escape where witches are cursed, seek revenge, and make amazing wine. I'll drink to that!🍷
I would love to know more about the pastry witch though. I'm so intrigued by her use of magic in baking to connect lovers. Maybe in the third book?

A teen witch fights to protect herself, her family, and her coven from an unknown attacker. Is it a blood witch? A witch hunter? A "reg" with an interest in dark magic?
This is a fun, LGBT friendly #YA that was exactly what I wanted it to be. :)
Can't wait for the sequel to come out next month!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Just what I needed! The kind of mystery where everyone has a motive and all the clues are there all along!
Reminded me a bit of Big Little Lies because of the style and all the *secrets* A perfect escape!
#botm
⭐⭐
Eh. I just didn't like this one. The first two stories were cute, but then they just got kind of weird and dark. I was hoping for a light, funny, escape and this.... was not that.
⭐⭐⭐💫
Between a so-so and a pick for me. I was entertained, but I don't think this will leave a lasting impression for me. I also found it difficult at times to remember which girl knew what; the two storylines were a bit too similar for my liking.
#botm
☆No Spoilers
This is COMPLETELY unnecessary. It adds absolutely nothing to the plot but further stigmatizes BPD. It's as if a character's entire history can be explained with one informal diagnosis that *apparently* justifies anything dangerous he may do.
😡 Not cool...

Book 5 in the Wayward Children series
Not my favorite of all, but I really appreciated the escape right now. And I love Jack's story so much. 😊
As always, my compliments to Seanan McGuire for the inclusive list of characters and wonderful representation of LGBT relationships, mental health, and disability. This one's a pick!
My April TBR for #BookSpin #DoubleSpin
I bailed on the March pick, let's see if April is any better!

You had me at "reminded me of Agatha Christie" :)
Can't wait for this one!

Edie works as a body channeling the deceased for loved ones. But what happens when she gets too attached to one of her clients and the boundaries gets blurred?
I really enjoyed the writing style of this novel and was intrigued by the premise, but I feel like it lost its way at the end.
Also I cheated and read my #doublespin book first 🙈
⭐⭐⭐⭐💫
I thoroughly enjoyed this one! I'm not usually one for sci-fi but I loved the different take on time travel and memories. I agree that the end has different pacing but I can't think of anything that could be satisfyingly cut out.
Overall a quick, thought-provoking book; a definite pick.

Here's my March #BookSpin list! Some are leftover from my February list, but I own all of them this time, and I took off any super long ones after getting a chunkster last time.
Let's see what March brings!
@TheAromaofBooks
⭐⭐⭐⭐
This one's a pick for me! A fun, twisty summer read... for February. :)
I enjoyed the mystery, but Lockhart's imagery had me feeling the sun, tasting the water, and experiencing first love like I was there. That said, the original working title Let's Do and Say We Didn't is a more fitting title.
⭐⭐⭐⭐💫
Such a great book! Bri's story is honest, heartwarming, and witty. While it is a bit predictable and obviously meant for a younger audience, I am so glad I read it and will definitely recommend it to others.

I really like this book; I almost love it.
It's weird, without #BookSpin, I may not have finished it. The beginning didn't grab me, then I just found it depressing, then I really liked it. I didn't find myself craving it, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself while actually reading it. Not sure I'll pick up the second since the third may never come out. But I'm glad overall that I finally read this chunkster!
Thanks!! @TheAromaofBooks
Looking forward to finishing my #BookSpin pick today! 👀

My favorite book of the year so far!
This whodunit flashes between a 2019 murder and the 2009 "case of the century" where our victim and suspects first met.
This definitely reads like a movie, and I was hooked from literally the first page!
Thanks #botm, probably wouldn't have found this one otherwise!
Ollie's haul!! I've had my eye on some of these for awhile, so it's a pleasant surprise to find them at such great prices! 🤗
⭐⭐💫
I really wanted to love this one. It's dystopian faerie fantasy, taking place following a war between humanity and Fae. Lots of promise with this unique idea, but it just doesn't pan out.
Liza discovers that she has traits of magic (punishable by death in her village). This sets her off on a journey to find her mother who abandoned her.
TW: death of an infant. It happens in the first few pages and carries through the rest of the plot.
Well I got a #BookSpin chunkster! This has been on my TBR. Forever. So I'm glad to have some incentive to check it off. :)
Thanks @TheAromaofBooks 🤗
⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is such a fun series. My second time reading this, and I just don't get why it's so underrated.
Set in the early 20th century, the first book in this series sees Ava and her friends attend a magical boarding school, befriend and battle fairy creatures, and contend with fantastical reimaginings of major historical events. Definitely escapist fun!🧚♂️🧚♀️
I really wish I could pick a YA as my #botm without making a new account. This is not the first time I've felt pretty meh about the picks but chose one so I could get the YA one...
What did everyone else pick?
Here's hoping that #BookSpin keeps me accountable for reading something from my TBR! Most are books on my shelves at home but I added a couple that I want from my library too :)
@TheAromaofBooks
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Glad that I bought into the hype and checked this one out.
Kya's story is beautifully and heartbreakingly told. I expected a little more "courtroom drama" based on other reviews and there was a little *twist* at the end that I'm not sure really fits. But overall a solid pick.
Well #botm sure got here fast this time! Getting ready to dive in :)
Damn, I love this book. I know that Morgenstern isn't everyone's style, but I just get swept away in her writing.
I've tried outlining this book to others and... just can't. Comparing it to Alice in Wonderland is probably closest but still doesn't quite capture it.
What would you do if you found a door that wasn't a door? How would your life change if you walked away? What if Time fell in love with Fate?
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
15 year old me would have been intoxicated by Ronan Lynch. 32 year old me wants to adopt all three Lynch brothers.
I really enjoyed this book and Maggie's way of building on the characters and story we already love while going in a very new direction. There's a lot of setting up the rest of the series, but overall a very solid pick.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
#dreamer #RavenCycle
He "might not have saved Ronan's life in high school, but at the very least kept it mostly out of Ronan's reach so that he could not take it down and break it."
What a beautiful way of describing those powerful adolescent friendships that seem to shape us and save us at the same time. ?
