My seat back is upright and my personal items have been stowed. Except for this book which, along with my adult beverage, I will keep tightly clutched in my greedy little hands. #newrelease #randomhouse Thanks to @ChrisBohjalian ! On sale 13 March. #suspense #mystery #whodunit

Reading this was such a pleasure especially because I'll be sharing the stage with Marita at Fall for the Book on 13 October. The topic: The Legacy of Memory.

My tribe. @theladygreer hanging out with me at @FountainBookstore hosted by the fabulous Kelly. We fielded questions from a very engaged audience and expounded (at perhaps too great length) on the use of real historical events in fiction. Lovely evening! #booktour #richmond #booktalk #histfic #allthebestpeople #girlindisguise

rachelm Amazing!!! So glad you all had a good night! 7y
theladygreer Never too much "at length" when the content is so good! Had a wonderful time. Richmond, you have a true treasure in @FountainBookstore. 7y

Started this the other day and find myself so eager to get back to it. The writing is superb and the creep factor is rising. Love it! 💕📚

Mehso-so

I was captivated until about halfway through when the narrative slowed and the plot twists I hoped for never appeared. The ending was abrupt but that wouldn't have bothered me if the rest of the journey had been more interesting. Dude can write, though! #suspense #mystery #sociopaths

In the Woods | Tana French
post image

About a third through and completely absorbed so far. French hasn't put a foot wrong other than overwriting the prologue. Any others of hers anyone would recommend? #suspense #cops

Lauren_reading I'm about 10% in and I'm really enjoying it too. I read the Trespasser and decided to read her other books. 7y
Nat_Reads I've read all but her newest and am always satisfied with the stories. In the woods is my favorite of hers, by far. The Likeness is my least favorite (but still not bad, just didn't like the premise so a readerly issue rather than writerly). 7y
MyNamesParadise Faithful Place is my favorite. The next book in the series will feature a main character that was a supporting character in the previous book. 7y
SonjaYoerg Further along and it's bloody amazing. 7y
night_shift I really enjoyed this one, but haven't read any of the rest of the series.. maybe I'll have to! 7y

A girl who lives near a lake never learns to swim. This seems so unlikely to me and yet the mystery of it is interesting. I'm not swooning over this story, but I'm intrigued.

Notafraidofwords I personally loved it. 7y

Reading this one for a panel I'm moderating at the Virginia Festival of the Book later this month. It's been likened to Friday Night Lights which helps me not at all since I haven't watched it!

hollytucker Heading to the VA Fest too! 7y
SonjaYoerg @hollytucker To celebrate your new release--congrats! What day is your panel? 7y
hollytucker I'm in Friday afternoon, I think. 7y

An unusual take on the destruction of a German Jewish family. Fast-paced and insightful, and Simmons does not reach for the easy ending.

Possibly the best WWII book I have read and I have read a lot of them. Emotionally nuanced, unflinching and never sentimental.

One of the books from the panel I'm moderating at the Virginia Festival of the Book. Anyone else pick up this one? #contemporary #fiction #fearofflying

LitHousewife What day is your panel? I'm hoping to make it to Charlottesville this year. 7y
SonjaYoerg @LitHousewife I have two! Wednesday at 2 pm for fiction and Friday at 10 am for non-fiction. Would love to meet you. 7y
LitHousewife @SonjaYoerg I really need a day off of work. Maybe three. 😂 I'm crossing my fingers that I can make it happen. Not much of anything bookish happens in Roanoke and Charlottesville is only 2 hours away. I'd love to meet you, too! 7y
SonjaYoerg @LitHousewife I'm closer to Roanoke than Charlottesville and will probably do a signing at the B&N there. We will make it happen. 😊 7y

Liz, the main character, is setting off on a 220-mile hike, but this is a fair summary of the attitude of Dante, her boyfriend. How far would you hike for love? #adventure #lovestory #hiking #notcamping

CocoReads Yeah, I'm not camping. At all. No matter what. 7y
SonjaYoerg @CocoReads I did that hike myself but understand it's not for everyone. 7y
CocoReads I had bad camping experiences as a child so I don't mind small hikes but I have no desire to spend my nights outdoors. 7y
