so-soI'm not sure I fully followed this story.
I liked the idea bit feel I've missed much of it...
pickExquisite and kind of perfect, actually. The prose is crystalline, and the book isn‘t “minimalist” because the word feels twee here and even “subtle” is precious. Imagine another.
I‘m only three chapters in & already I‘m completely invested. It starts off strong and has a lot of heart. “I asked him one day what my mother was like. I knew what she was like as my mother but I thought it was time somebody told me what she was like as a person.”
“Between the way things used to be and the way they were now was a void that couldn‘t be crossed.”
“What strange and unlikely things are washed up on the shore of time.”

Now working on clearing my schedule for #BOTM day tomorrow so that I can focus my full attention! I have to mentally prepare myself for dealing with @Reviewsbylola for the next 48 hours as discussion on the book reveals ensues 🤣
#myreadingweek Picks for this week were The Color Purple (it feels weird to spell it that way!) and Autumn but they weren't the best for distracting me from current events so I'm thankful I also had the imagined worlds of Terry Pratchett and Cornelia Funke to escape to. #escapism #fantasyvsreality

The Woodridge Library in DC is open - and even had a local band playing songs from the Sound of Music! Pairs perfectly with a Sunday beer at the Public Option afterwards. It has been a long time since I went to the library so I * maybe * went a bit overboard. I promise not to be a jerk and will comply with the return policies at all times.
