And now for some light escapist summer reading 📖 and June book 📖 bingo no 4 #bookspinbingo #junereads 😎happy Friday folks
I read this on the recommendation of a fan of the books. It wasn‘t bad. It‘s very well written - but it just wasn‘t my kind of story. I get why my friend likes it so much. I think I just didn‘t feel enough for the hero and I‘m not a fan of the time period. I‘m gonna put it as a pick because I still finished the book and recognize the quality of storytelling.
This was a very silly romp and I really enjoyed it. I liked that the setting and characters of this Bridgerton prequel felt fresh and different. By the end of the main Bridgerton series I felt like Julia Quinn was maybe running out of ideas, but the American setting and elaborate very melodramatic amnesia concept were great fun.
It took me a while to get into this book and I‘m not really sure why but once I had I couldn‘t put it down. I really liked the main characters and I did find myself really rooting for them as a couple. Overall I really liked it
Book 2 of the Rokesby brothers, set in the late 1700s, so a prequel to the Bridgerton series. And if you thought the Bridgerton series had some scandalous moments (at least scandalous for regency times), that‘s nothing compared to this series. 😉
#seriesread2021
I woke up with Kind breakfast biscuits, a cup of Murchie‘s Canadian Breakfast, and Julia Quinn.
THE GIRL WITH THE MAKE-BELIEVE HUSBAND is sort of a #BlameItOnLitsy thing. I knew about it because of Litsy, so I pointed it out to my mum at the thrift store. She bought it, read it, and passed it along to me.
I sat on it for three years, like I used to do before I adopted my get-book-read-book lifestyle. Now I‘m having a great time with it.
Romances are for audiobooks
This was really cute! Our heroine crossed the ocean to find her missing brother but ends up nursing his unconscious best friend. Except it turns out that in order to do so, she has to pretend to be said best friend's wife!
Her daily to do's cracked me up, and I loved her moxie.
Just what I needed! 4❤️

I know nothing about this book, but the title is irresistible.
"Change what you can and accept what you can't."
This month's OSRBC read. How I cried and smiled through this. I am sucker for war stories but this one hits me in the feels. Some war stories ply on the melancholy but this book has the right balance of love, romance and unmistakable bittersweet need. The deception is necessary which doesn't make me hate any of the characters but the ending is just pure love for me
This was my first Julia Quinn Book. I thought this story was pretty good. The premise was good, set during the Revolutionary war, but from the British point of view.
However, I don‘t know if I will continue to read more of her books.. this one didn‘t hook me where I really need to continue the series or read more of her books.
⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ I always give Julia Quinn's books 5 stars but this particular one started off great and it ended with you wanting more. I just wanted a little more of their relationship/story in the middle of the book. This had some real LOL moments, as thru always do 😂😂. Still loved it and will always recommend her books to everyone #osrbc #romansty
This sounds like a cute book to listen to until my holds become available.
Another #labsountrack - this time a prequel from the Bridgertons series. An English girl turns her life upside down by setting sail for America to care for her wounded soldier brother. When she arrives though, she finds her brother missing and his best friend injured. Adventure ensues. #romantsy
Another one of my absolute favourite authors!! 💗💗 It already feels like a winner and I'm only a chapter in 😍😍 #osrbc #romansty
It‘s a day that was just made for reading and cat-snuggling
Fun context and characters.
Set during the American Revolutionary War, this romance novel tells the story of Cecilia, who has a little secret. A little white lie convinces the British army that she is married to the unconscious Captain Edward Rokesby. But, what happens when he wakes up and can't remember a thing? A nice #palatecleanser full of humor and romance. Light and fluffy, a perfect between-heavy-reads novel.
#Zeke is bored with romance novels. #catsoflitsy
#RightNow I'm currently reading this book. I hope to finish it today - a nice selection for a #palatecleanser . #augustgrrrl
The story flowed so well!! It was an easy read that followed along the lines of the previous novels in the series but makes a great standalone as well. I thoroughly enjoy the hea of romances and this supplied it in spades. I can't wait to read the next instalment. I'm secretly hoping some of the stuff that happened is wrong and will be fixed in subsequent novels. Pretty please 🙏
It's Caturday morning! Taking some time to snuggle with my little ones before I run errands. #Zeke #Vladimir #catsoflitsy
My current read!! I've needed a good happily every after story after my crazy depressing life this month. So far so good!!
Finished my second #24in48 book with eight and a half hours clocked! This was another excellent historical romance from @JuliaQuinn and I even got a little choked up at the end. I was intending to mix in some graphic novels but couldn't put this down once I picked it up. #romantsy 😘
My mum and I cleaned up at the thrift store's 50% off sale. Ten romance novels for $4! A lot of them are 2017 releases, too. #romantsy
Loving this one so far! Ms. Quinn never disappoints for a satisfying read!
This was all I'd hoped it would be: engaging, witty and compelling. Looking forward to reading more by Quinn. #romance #summerreads
Historical romance my "guilty pleasure" only I'm not very guilty about it. I never feel guilty about anything I read.My prerogative??

No words. So thrilled to have met Julia Quinn. I just...I can't even. #alaac17
Julia's book in a basket of flowers because it is very sweet...I loved the end, particularly! It was also fun to see a different setting. All in all, a great escape and perfect for reading in a garden! #romantsy #regencyromance @JuliaQuinn
Cecilia told a teensy lie. When she discovered that her brother's friend had been injured she wanted to nurse him but was informed that only relatives could see him. It was only natural for her to claim to be his wife. But he is awake now and missing the last few months of his memory. Oh dear. Another fun read from Julia Quinn told with her usual warm humor. I liked the setting of revolutionary war era New York. #romantsy
It arrived! Talk about #floating. I now need to reconfigure all weekend plans. #junebookbugs #bookmail
Sneaking in a little early morning reading with my coffee. 💕#romantsy
I loved this book! It's amazing characters and great story makes this book difficult to put down! I'm hoping to see more books about the Roksebys in the future!
I am particular about my historical romances - I love it when they focus on the wooing and ballrooms and romance.
I'm also a big fan of Julia Quinn. She's the only historical romance author whose books I've read more than once.
That being said, this book fell a little short for me. Not because of the writing, but because it just lacked certain elements that would have made it perfect for my taste. But still a good story! #romantsy #historical
Considering how many times I check my email to see if my signed copy has shipped yet, I would guess that this is my #Junemostanticipated (even though it came out in May). #junebookbugs
