The Paris Key
The Paris Key | Juliet Blackwell
An American in Paris navigates her familys secret past and unlocks her own future, in this emotionally evocative novel by New York Times bestselling author Juliet Blackwell. As a girl, Genevieve Martin spent the happiest summer of her life in Paris, learning the delicate art of locksmithing at her uncles side. But since then, living back in the States, she has become more private, more subdued. She has been an observer of life rather than an active participant, holding herself back from those around her, including her soon-to-be-ex-husband. Paris never really left Genevieve, and, as her marriage crumbles, she finds herself faced with an incredible opportunity: return to the magical city of her youth to take over her late uncles shop. But as she absorbs all that Parisian culture has to offer, she realizes the city also holds secrets about her family that could change her forever, and that locked doors can protect you or imprison you, depending on which side of them you stand.

An excellent read! @FeatherV you would love this. Genevieve returns to the Paris of her childhood as her marriage is crumbling and upon her uncle‘s death. Weekly update:
I'm currently reading Embrace, The Other Side of Midnight and A Drop In The Potion. Apparently I'm into purple covers this week

I got The Paris Key from the library it sounded interesting. Unfortunately it just wasn't for me so I moved it to my DNF list. The cover is so pretty though!

Books I read and LOVED by Juliet Blackwell.

All of these books are FAB reads, but THE LOST CAROUSEL OF PROVENCE was amazing and my favorite.

All are reviewed on my blog.

Which ones have you read?

Mehso-so

So, I had just finished reading Letters from Paris and loved it so much that I jumped into The Paris Key. This book had so much potential, so many things could have happened! Yet they didn‘t and I was left feeling deflated and disappointed, while there were parts I enjoyed I just couldn‘t fully get into this book. It was an easy read with a family secret, a little mystery and a lot of history about Paris.

The things I loved: Genevieve's move to an entirely new country to start a new life, the descriptions of Paris and all of the food, the people that become her friends and support her while she is adjusting.

I have conflicting feelings about Angela's POV. Maybe this is because of the slower-paced plot when I was impatient for answers. Or maybe parts of her story hit a little too close to home.

I LOVE this book cover 🌺🌸 #LitsyAtoZ #LetterP

All I want to do is eat bread and cheese. I'm blaming this book for talking so much about French cuisine!! One day I will get to Paris, but for now reading novels about it will have to do. #readandeat

Was in Paris for a week in late May on my honeymoon; any book set in Paris brings back sights, sounds, smells...Shakespeare & Co., cafes, bistros, gardens, metro, museums, coffee,croissants...wish to return someday.

ValerieAndBooks How did you like Shakespeare and Co? On my bucket list! 8y
Chachic Shakespeare and Co. is such a lovely bookstore, would love to visit it again someday! I heard that now have a cafe beside it. Also, if you read romance, Laura Florand's Amour et Chocolat books are set in Paris and they have such a strong sense of place because the author is very familiar with the setting. First book is 8y
