I really like this cover. I very much enjoy Christmas pudding. But I am not enjoying this novella and have abandoned it. For sure, it is not her best, but after reading half of the novel, I was not vested in any character or place. Boring. 1/5

“As for the book, it‘s no good writing about the upper classes if you hope to be taken seriously. You must have noticed that by now? Station masters, my dear, station masters” Amabelle pg 26.
An entirely light hearted Christmas read that is full of wit, cynicism, humor, a touch of absurdity, and sly deprecating comments. I don‘t know if it‘s her best, but it was a fun read going into Christmas week.

I finished Christmas pudding today. I can't say I loved it - flippant posh people aren't my thing-, but I found 784 occurrences of the 12 words in the The #WGWordSearch list (or the computer did), and that‘s my best score so far! And I fulfilled my first readathon goal 😇

My book group's choice for December is Christmas Pudding by Nancy Mitford, which I'll be starting tonight. I'm hoping for lots of points!

Nancy Mitford‘s fabulous tongue in cheek story of a country house at Christmas and the lives and loves of high society. #WinterGames #MerryReaders
This was just the kind of deliciously impudent snark I needed during this period. Nancy Mitford's wit is always at an all-time high & it might get tiresome for some, but I do admire it. To maintain the style & tone through pages of farcical shenanigans amongst the English upper crust during a Christmas house party is a feat. I was never bored. The book opened with a misunderstood, hilariously tragic male writer, & I snort-laughed throughout.
This book has me cackling 😆
Another fabulous Nancy Mitford reading experience! Sometimes, I need some snark to balance out the usual Christmas sweetness.
Good book, Christmas lights, Bills are winning (🤞), life is good. #tistheseason #buffalobills
Up next for me in Christmassy reads is this pretty little book.
Oh, how I adore Nancy Mitford. ❤️❤️
I finally made it to Heywood Hill in London! It was so tiny. And filled with posh, older, Eton accented men in bespoke suits. They had a first edition, signed copy of Lolita for (e5! I purchased a few things, including this book. I also was on the hunt for Shakespeare‘s Sonnets, Retold by James Anthony. And Normal People by Sally Rooney because I really enjoyed Conversations With Friends. Christmas in London is delightful!
Thank you @Itchyfeetreader for the lovely gift 😘😘. I may not get to it this year but it will make next Christmas all the more lovely as I'm sure it will be worth the wait!!! #jbuk 📚📖
The fridge & pantry are stocked w/ goodies, the last of the Christmas cards are written, & presents are wrapped under the tree. Now, I‘m looking forward to a relaxing weekend filled w/ hot chocolate made on the stove, Christmas films, a game night, & immersing myself in this delightful holiday novel by Nancy Mitford. She‘s such a treat to read, & always guarantees a laugh or two. If you haven‘t given her a try yet, do, you won‘t be disappointed.
