Interesting and enjoyable enough that I kept reading but I wasn't immensely intrigued. Parts of it puttered out, and I couldn't tell what the point was or where the story was going. The nonlinear timeline and abrupt changes in point of view were disorienting. I liked the writing style, the characters, and the semi-predictable twist, but the story lacked passion overall.

This was definitely suspenseful and there was a good twist but I didn‘t love how it ended and I found all the characters to be fairly unpleasant. That said it was a total page turner and went fast.

Good one- current topic of real estate fraud- and then some! I wish someone I knew had also just finished this so we could talk about the ending and what a f up this will be... I need a few more chapters to find out!

This book got better as it went on, so stick with it. Nice ending that makes you continue the story well after you finish the book.
A woman arrives home one day to find another family moving into her house.... It gets a lot more twisty than that.

I came to Our House, hoping again for a compelling, plot-driven read. The premise is one with potential, it‘s initially confusing, and it hasn‘t been done a million times. However, I found that Candlish made this narrative both too ridiculous at times (the mechanism for the crime is outrageous), and too complicated (the connecting threads and plot twists in the last 50 pages were unnecessary in many moments, and too convenient in others).

I‘m ready for some drama 👌🏻

Biggest Plot Twist

I have read a few bookswith BIG plot twists, but the ending on OUR HOUSE by Louise Candlish had me literally gasp at the last line and what the character did.

OUR HOUSE is one of the most creative suspense books I have read.

OUR HOUSE is bizarre, nerve wracking, and unbelievable, but oh so good. That last line is WOW!!

I finished this book weeks ago but apparently never posted about it here despite the fact that I‘ve been telling everyone I see to read it. Same goes here - if you haven‘t added this book to your TBR yet, do it now.

The basic premise - A woman comes home one day to find her husband, kids, and belongings gone and strangers moving into her house. What follows is a great thriller/mystery that will keep you committed to figure out what happened.

About a third of the way in on this I was kind of 'meh'. It felt like it couldn't decide what kind of book it was. But holy wow. It became clear what kind of book it was and had more twists and surprises than anything I've read in a while, and ones that I absolutely never saw coming. And that ending...😱😱😱. Definitely recommend.

It‘s not just the sense of coming home. It‘s the understanding that what or where or who you love is only ever borrowed. There is no permanent ownership, not for any of us 🏡💔

Due to spending every minute I could grab engaged in this book I have now finished it ! 💃🏼💃🏼 it‘s absolutely brilliant. 9/10 most definitely. My second favourite book I‘ve read this yeAr without a doubt.

On the whole not a bad read. I enjoyed the format which alternated between Fi‘s story told in an online podcast style (complete with comments from internet trolls!) and Bram‘s journal style word document. And the premise was interesting but just not that well executed. The middle just dragged, made me totally disinterested in the characters and storyline. Originally started reading in July and only finished it a few days ago. Enough said. 3⭐️

Just started this book and already feel like I‘m going to love it. The reviews say ‘addictive, twisty and oh so terrifyingly possible‘ so I cant wait to see what happens 💪🏻 also totally hope someone gets me a kindle voucher for Christmas and then I can continue to stack the books up that I want to read. Already got loads like but the more the merrier. 💪🏻💪🏻

I‘m stuck between saying this was a pick and a so-so. Really interesting premise and lots of twists but I did feel like it dragged on when I felt like I should have been racing through it. Also, Bram!! What a wally. I know he got caught up in his own mistakes, but wouldn‘t you try to talk to someone?

Finally finished this one. Took me almost 150 pages to get into it, which, as a flight attendant reading the same book told me, is an awfully long time to wait. I kept reading though because I was in need of a nice shut-off-your-brain-and-escape book. And on that front, Our House definitely delivered.

I‘ve found myself completely hooked on this book. It wasn‘t even on my radar but hubby bought it for me after he‘d bought a book I‘d already read for my birthday so swapped it for this one.

I‘ve got a growing sense of dread about the mess Bram is getting himself into......

Making the most of being awake early on a weekend by getting a massive cuppa and starting on this! I‘ve heard very good things and the premise sounds amazing and terrifying... a woman comes home to find a new family moving into her house! Where are her family and all their stuff? I‘ll have to get started to find out!!

I thought this was a pretty solid and innovative mystery/thriller. This was a total page turner.

Meh, it kept me reading but I just felt like the story was one big mess. Bram was the biggest idiot ever. Even when he tried to do the right thing he did the wrong thing. Ugh!

Eh.. written in an interesting style, characters that got all the feelings out of me, and a couple good plot twists kept me pushing through this dark domestic tale. It did drag in many places and I had to keep pushing through. I found myself putting it down and having to force myself to pick it back up. 🏡🏡🏡

Stayed up to finish reading this book. I enjoyed it but agree with some other reviewers that it could have 100 pages shorter. It did keep me entertained! I don‘t know what I would do if my house was sold without my knowledge and my husband is nowhere to be found! 😱

Very busy for the next few weeks means squeezing any extra reading time when possible. A break between classes and clients helps!!! 💪🤓

Up next! 👏👏 Working my way through my TBR for the month. When the husband is away, I get lots of reading time and lots of chick flicks to watch!

Ooh book haul yay. Bottom two are new. Top 3 are from Tesco's charity stall. Thought it was apt to buy a horror as we're in October.

Didn‘t enjoy it, enjoyed it, hated the ending or should I say unfinished with no conclusion. What a shame.

Brilliant book! Really clever story telling, a twisting plot and I was hooked! definitely recommend this to anyone

So excited that I finally picked this up. But two chapters in and I'm annoyed. Quick book blurb: Fi comes home to people moving into her home, her husband and kids gone. They hadn't divorced yet. So why am I so close to tossing the book? Because it's all about the house. NOT ONE: "where the hell are my kids?!" Okay... I'll give it a chance, there may be a good reason, but it better show up in Chapter 3.

A fast pace thriller that grabs you right from the start! I couldn't put the book down!

This book is expertly written and told from multiple perspectives. It is easy to follow and will keep you guessing the entire way through.

I absolutely enjoyed this book and was bummed when it was over.The ending definitely left me wanting more!

This story gave me chills, it unfolded gradually and painfully, and I found myself holding my breath, feeling outraged on Fiona‘s behalf. How could this happen?
The multiple perspectives annoyed me at first, the constant switching between the 3 viewpoints jumbled my poor head alarmingly until I settled in to the rhythm.
And that ending! I thought I had it all sussed out until then.

I used Random Number Generator to pick my next book. Here it is! Lots of mixed reviews here....

I finally finish this ARC! I was hoping for more. It seemed to drag out forever. The POV changed at the end which through me off but maybe they changed it in the publish copy. The ending is doesn't wrap up, it leaves you to assume what happens next. It was just Ok for me.

🌟🌟🌟.5/5 i was super entertained by this book the whole way through. The whole thing was a bit of a stretch, but that‘s fiction right? Anyway, this book got me hyped for my upcoming trip to London!

This book keeps you involved from cover to cover! Never a dull moment, always a plot. I am still trying to take in the ending, which leaves you to your own thoughts! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
