pickI‘m currently halfway through the first of the Game of Thrones series, but I wanted to make my first post! I finished this this past summer. A memoir that made me want to read more memoirs. Howard tells how she tried to balance her eating disorder and her desire to make it in the culinary world. Great story of romance, struggles, and aspirations.
I might have been a little hungry when I ordered these non-fiction books! I‘m not likely to get to these this month but I‘d love to get to them soon. #nfnov @rsteve388 @Clwojick
so-soThis book was a bit of a mixed bag for me. It was a memoir about Hannah Howard‘s struggle with an eating disorder while working in the food industry. I really enjoyed the inside look at the foodie culture as I gravitate to those types of memoirs and I appreciated her honest examination of her battle with eating and self image. However her repeated poor choices in relationships got a little redundant after awhile.

bailedI bailed on this one. It was pretty painful to read for a number of reasons. I think I keep wanting her to give me more information. Each chapter feels like a short journal entry and it leaves me hanging. I am frustrated by the writing style and the topic of her eating disorder is so painful to read. I think I will try this book another time and see if I can make it through the rest.
so-soI don‘t want to sound like a jerk BUT I didn‘t really like Hannah as a person. The book itself was interesting but I felt like her and I would never be friends. She sounded like a whiny, entitled person the whole book which I was okay with (honestly) but when she had an affair with a married man I kind of grew to dislike her. Sorry if I‘m a horrible person but marriage vows are quite important to me.
Today's lunch & blog post--Giada's Asparagus Soup with Herbed Goat Cheese. The soup is good but the goat cheese balls with the soup make it great. 😋🍲

pickThis was an unexpected grab. It ended up being about a woman‘s struggle with an eating disorder. I found it to be very interesting. The language was basic and definitely below what I normally read, but was refreshing and easy to read.
