Evergreen Tidings from the Baumgartners | 
pickThis was an easy, end-of-the-year read centered around the titular family. At times, the plot and tone veer into almost farcical territory, but there‘s some sadness and deeper things, too. It may not be everyone‘s cup of tea, but I enjoyed it.

'Evergreen Tidings from the Baumgartners' is quite the title. I almost think that was one of the reasons I kept putting off reading it. Its actually a pretty fun read! I laughed so hard out loud at one point, I startled one of my dogs and he starting barking at me in alarm. (It was the dinner scene where Donny told a 💩 joke in case you read it.)
pickDysfunctional family whose matriarch writes ridiculous annual Christmas letters. However this is not a Christmas book as most of the story takes place throughout the year. Cute and funny!!
pickGiving this an overall pick. Lots of unlikeable characters, but somehow it all worked and it came together in the end.

pickI enjoyed this one! Zany fun (even if also a bit all over the place and sometimes nutty), with some sweet messages. The focus on Upper Midwestern Lutheran church ladies was a huge plus for me, since I was raised by one and grew up surrounded by many others. The voices of the ladies in this often rang pretty gosh darn true, based on my experience. 😛

pick3.5 🌟 I enjoyed this book. Cerise and Barb are pregnant, and Mother Baumgartner needs to control their lives, starting with who is the donor?! There are several themes running through the book, and the ending is very beautiful.
