The last of three books a student gave me to read at the beginning of the year! I liked it though. It was very fast-paced and a quick read. I kiiiiiiinda want to read the rest of the trilogy, but I probably won‘t.
I forgot how much I loved this author's series the Uglies so I was excited to find this at my library. It was such a unique story and Frey is a badass. I can't wait to get my hands on book two!
Frey is the secret twin sister of Ravi, a princess to a terrible ruler. The ruler makes a deal with a neighboring kingdom, his daughter for some land. Frey gets to see how life is not being invisible. Set in the Uglies universe.
I like this story more than the old stories of Tally and Shay. There is no best friend rivalry which is prevalent in the old stories.
I am posting one book per day from my to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new - don‘t judge me I have a lot of books.
Join the fun if you want. This is day 192.

This is a spin-off from Uglies-verse, and I love it ☠️☠️
Rafi and Frey are twins, one born as an heir to the first family of Shreve, and one born as the body double and a trained killer since 7 years old.
The world building is always amazing, Frey is strong and very relatable, the romance is good enough, and the narration captures me from start till finish.

My bookspin is Imposters, My doublebookspin is The Proposal. I forgot to mark them.
I choose not to add the extra 5 books as I am so far behind in reading the way it is. This will make for a nice challenge, and maybe I will pick up something to fit in the free spaces.

I chose this book because I thought it the plot was intriguing. Two sisters with completely different personalities but one is shown to the world while the other is the imposter. Already from this little tidbit of information I wondered what this story would be about. This was definitely a go to book for me. I'd recommend it if you are an outgoing person wondering what it's like to be in the shadows.
I‘m rating this as a pick and it did get pretty intense, but Westerfeld‘s high tech futuristic stories are just not my style. The book took me a while to finish just because I would rather read something else. I did appreciate a look at the future of the same world I read about in the Uglies series several years ago. #YA #TRS2019
Third book completed during #DeweysReadathon, along with a snack of grapes and tea. #readathon #DeweyOct
I did a few chores around the house this morning and then had a late breakfast with my book. Impostors is the start of a new series set in the future of the same world as the Uglies series.
Finished this audiobook reread since book 2 comes out on Tuesday 😍
Love the Uglies series❤So excited to start this beauty🤓📖
I enjoy when authors return to their story worlds to do something new. In this case, Westerfeld shows us the Pretties world long enough after the first series for those events to have become history, or in Tally's case, legend. Using a twin for a body double for protection and exploring the psychological impacts of that decision is a great premise, but I was disappointed to see this is just the start of a new series--I wanted to read more now!
1. We need to find a place to put our Christmas tree up in the new apartment!
2. Checking out the Christkindlmart in the city for some gift shopping.
3. My family calls them Turkish Turbans - the peanut butter cookies with Hershey kisses on top. My great-grandmother's molasses cookies too.
4. Tagged book & Marie-Laure Ryan's writings about immersion in transmedia.

This is so far is both so fun and nostalgic references to Tally Youngblood make me wanna cry a bit. How am I not still in Freshman biology reading Peeps before the bell rings?
I‘m so glad Scott is continuing to write in this world. But I need book 2 now. 😬
I didn‘t even know I wanted more of the Uglies world. If you were a fan of the original trilogy check this out.
I‘m so here for this and I didn‘t even realize it. So glad my husband encouraged me to go last night.
Scott Westerfeld was at my local tonight and I decided to go on a whim. So glad I did because I regretted not seeing him when he came to town on his Afterworld tour.
Met Scott Westerfeld tonight! I‘ve been reading his books since I was in junior high. He was a great speaker and had some fun stories to tell.
Not sure if this is a continuation of the Uglies series, or a spin off, but I know lots of people who are excited for its release.
