House on Haunted Hill: A William Castle Annotated Screamplay | Robb White, William Castle
8 posts
"House on Haunted: A William Castle Annotated Screamplay" is the never-before-seen working script from William Castle's archives and is a Living Screenplay(TM). "House on Haunted Hill" (written by Robb White) is a renowned work of producer and director William Castle, beloved for his signature-style fright-filled films and delivering "the gimmick" to the horror genre. "House on Haunted Hill" stars the inimitable Vincent Price and Emergo the skeleton who famously flew through theaters and taunted live audiences. "House on Haunted Hill: A William Castle Annotated Screamplay" features original script formatting, maintaining the integrity of the authentic screenplay replete with Castle's hand-written notes and actual leather-bound style of design that he used for every movie he made. William Castle Productions is offering this book complete with Emergo, simply sift through the pages back to front and scare yourself silly. The William Castle Annotated Screamplay for House on Haunted Hill includes a foreword by prolific director Joe Dante (Gremlins, The Howling). Dante calls House on Haunted Hill "an artifact worth having" and a "seminal 1950s picture". It also includes an introduction by William Castle's daughter, Terry Castle, who shares a personal perspective on this seminal piece of film history. And a historical perspective of the film by writer and illustrator Charlie Largent.

The House on Haunted Hill (1999). I love this character, he spends the whole film just so done with all of it.

TheReadingMermaid @RamsFan1963 he really is. Have you seen Last Man on Earth? He's very good in that one as well. 1mo
RamsFan1963 @TheReadingMermaid I have seen Last Man on Earth, definitely the best adaptation of the Mathieson story. It's been awhile, probably time for a rewatch this month. 1mo

IamIamIam My favorite Vincent Price movie! The director, William Castle, had a gimmick for each movie he directed. This one featured Emergo. No spoilers, so you'll have to look that up. 😁 The Tingler had an equally fun ginmick!!! 1mo
TheLibrarian Love Vincent Price movies! 1mo
sharread Oh I have that and never watched it, going to now. I watched the one with Liam Neeson. 😍 1mo

UnidragonFrag @sharread there's one with Liam Neeson? I'll have to look that up. 1mo
TheLibrarian @UnidragonFrag The one with Liam Neeson is called The Haunting and it is a different story line. The House on Haunted Hill was remade staring Geoffrey Rush in 1999 (same movie name). 1mo
UnidragonFrag @TheLibrarian oh! Ok, thanks! 1mo
TheLibrarian @UnidragonFrag Sorry - I love horror movies a little too much. 1mo

I haven‘t had time to finish any books this month. I would spend a week hiking in New Mexico. No plans for Halloween - we‘ve already done all of our stuff. Halloween isn‘t really my holiday - except I do spend October watching scary movies. #HumpDayPost

BookwormAHN Nice movie picks 🧡 13mo
MelAnn @BookwormAHN thank you! I‘m a big fan of the Dark Castle movies! 13mo
