I am not a graphic novel reader but I truely did enjoy treading this one. Maybe in the future I‘ll be more likely to take up a graphic novel! Ah the things doing reading challenges can teach us!

I‘m generally not a reader of graphic novels, but one of my reading challenges has a slot especially for one…so let‘s try something new.
#AutumnPlease
It‘s definitely not #Sweater weather here. 86 degrees F. may not seem that bad but it‘s super humid at my house today with not a lot of air movement. 😓 The tagged book is one I read last year for #Scarathlon & one I could find with a witch in a sweater.
+ 6 points for Team #SpookyGhostClub
Finished this book on the way to the shore for a mini-vacation! It‘s a cute graphic novel about a girl who wants to be a witch and then discovers that she is one. I wanted to like it more than I did but I found it a bit too shallow and trite. I‘m not the best audience for this as I am usually not a fan of MG books.
Such a cute book! I loved this book and I definitely want this in my future classroom for all my future students to enjoy as much as I did!
Ridiculously charming! I love picking up random comics in the children‘s section. Moth learns abruptly that she is a witch, and that her family went into hiding in a magical, timeless dimension during the witch trials centuries ago. It was fun seeing how she copes with these new developments in her life. Also enjoyed having a Yiddish-speaking and LGBTQ+ side character. #Comic #MiddleGrade #Witch
Such a good book! I loved how Moth discovers her power and heritage, and how she gets through some awkwardness and fear to embrace her true self. I am eager to continue the series. Highly recommend this MG GN.
So excited to read The Okay Witch! Anyone here read it? #booksbrewsandbooze #theokaywitch #emmasteinkellner

This was cute & fun & as it‘s a graphic novel, it‘s quick read. It starts out on Halloween so extra points for that I think. Moth is a great character & I would definitely read the next one.🧙♀️🧹💜
Took today off from work & after errands & lunch with a friend, hope to get to reading & read the weekend away. My goals are these books: finish The Dead Don‘t Drink at Lafitte‘s, read Dread Nation for #Screamathon Week 2 prompt, continue listening to Vine Witch, read the tagged book & some stories from Good Southern Witches. Who knows if I‘ll accomplish it all or if my moody reader self will go off in another direction?

I don‘t read a lot of comic books or graphic novels but I put this graphic novel on e-book hold at the library to read in October for my #scarathlon2021 #tbr #teamhendrix
When I stopped by the library to grab my hold today, they had a copy sitting on the Halloween display so I brought it home with me. It looks cute & like a good light & easy witchy read.🧙
I‘m just in love with this middle grade graphic novel about figuring out who you are, how your familial history does and doesn‘t define you. And, of course, how to deal with being a witch. Love!
#BookReport time!
I finished The Okay Witch earlier this week and thought it was a very cute middle grade graphic novel. The illustrative style was unique and the story itself although in need of development, emphasized family, legacy, and acceptance.
The Book of Essie is #currentlyinprogress and through multiple points of view, explores teen pregnancy, fame, reality television, and religion. TW for possible sexual violence.

Moth is 13 years-old and into everything witchy when she finds out that she is actually a witch. Her mother, also a witch, chose a non-magical life and never told Moth. Moth has to learn about her family history, their ties to the town she lives in, and how to use her powers. This is a cute graphic novel. Moth is adorable and I love the friendship that develops with Charlie. I also love the cat. #screamathon
[#GraphicNovelReview] The Okay Witch by Emma Steinkellner. This is one of the cutest graphic novels with such important and well developed themes! I absolutely loved the artwork as well. If you or a reader you know are into graphic novels this is definitely one to pick up! 📖🖤

Super cute middle grade graphic novel! Perfect fall read! 🧙🏻♀️👻🎃
I really enjoyed this book. It's about a girl who finds out she is a witch and her mother has been hiding this information from her. Great illustrations. I enjoyed reading about the past with her grandmother and even the cat (a.k.a Mr. Laszlo). All in all a really great read and a cute ending!
3 stars
This was a sweet graphic novel about a young witch finding her powers. Some Salem witch trial parallels. Lots of obstacles having to do with family and belonging. Great for a fall read!
This graphic novel was absolutely adorable! ALL THE STARS! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Also, the beginning has to do with Halloween, so 21points for #TeamSlaughter too! #24B4MONDAY
Current Tome: 13hrs 28min
Totem wanted to get some snuggles and a bedtime story. Honestly, this cat kills me! 😂 He sat like this for the whole hour while I read through this #GraphicNovel. ♥️ What a sweetheart!

I am about to go to bed, but considering how busy today was I would say this is a pretty strong start (a little over 2 hours...although I lost my first timer so I hope I can still count that time even though I don‘t have official record).
3 graphic novels completed. 1 novel in progress.
31 points total from the 3 books pictured (2 theme, 1 Halloween). Also marking off pumpkin for #ScaryScavengerHunt #TeamStoker #Scarathlon #24b4Monday
Thought I'd zero in on and share my #currentlyreading and #TBR #graphicnovel adventures 😊💜📚
The Backstagers is one I've had on my TBR for a minute and I finally placed a hold on it today. Hotel Dare I found out about after reading The Avant-Guards.
I'm all kinds of giddy and excited about these reads!

This is the perfect fall graphic novel for the witch in all of us.
The ending Of the story, and the development of the antagonist, seemed a little rushed. But there was so much joy and charm in this book.
Cute and colorful! Definitely recommend for October.
It doesn't even feel like fall where I am yet (still in the 90s) but it's never too early to get in the Halloween spirit I guess? 😂

A cute middle grade comic about Moth, a thirteen year old girl, who discovers she's a witch after accidentally casting a spell on two of her bullies. But her mom doesn't want her doing magic-- and she won't say why. With the help of a talking cat possessed by the ghost of a family friend and her mom's old diary, Moth uncovers the truth about her mother's past and her complicated relationship with magic. Cute and perfect for a fun Halloween read!
4 🌟
This was a really fun graphic novel about a girl who has never quite fit in, learning she is so much more than she ever thought...she‘s a witch. This is both a blessing and a curse, as there is a history of terror in her community, and people always thought of witches as a bad thing, or at least something to be laughed at. But Moth Hush will have to find a happy medium between the past and the future to truly have the life she wants.
Thanks NetGalley and Simon and Schuster Children‘s Publishing for this ARC!
Hush learns all about becoming a witch, her family‘s history, and her town‘s legacy. What she does about it all is very interesting and makes for a great read. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves magic, friendship, and a good laugh! This book provides it all.
