5/5 for this standalone fantasy. I enjoyed this book. The imagery was superb! The characters were awesome and the story was just amazing. I was pulled in and could easily see the story play out in my head. I definitely recommend this one!
Some more #audiostitching this aft took me over 10h for #20in4
I finished the tiger cross stitch so now I'm on to this one which is (woohoo!) the last of the kits I started years ago and gave up on once I made a mistake. I've pulled out the mistakes, and I still have a few chapters left on this audiobook, so onwards!
I loved this book and how it introduced me to Desi culture and folklore!
This is my #DoubleSpin for October! Hopefully I can squeeze in enough time to have bingo. @TheAromaofBooks
@dgingo gave me this nifty gadget our college librarians made for our #BannedBooksWeek event. I know it's difficult to read (heh), but it says "Collin Reads Banned Books."
I listened to this audiobook over the course of a few days and I was completely enamored. Star Daughter was an interesting foray into a bit of Hindu mythology that was both rich and intoxicating! The world building was robust and extremely ethereal. The writing was expressed in prose both subtle and divine. I believe this book will appeal to a myriad of bibliophiles. Pick this one up, you'll have a good time.
~ Enjoy
Between a so so and a pan for me. The idea of this really had me interested unfortunately the story itself could barely hold my attention. Sad because the cover is to die for. The writing just wasn‘t captivating enough. My next book which I should finish later will give me a bingo! #bookspinbingo

At 156 pages in, I'm calling it for now on my #BookSpin pick. I think it has potential, but it just isn't grabbing me the way I thought it would. While the theme is full of magic and wonder, I'm just not feeling that as I read. I've been reading so many high action and high fantasy novels lately, I may just not be in the right mindset for a YA, at least not one where the character feels so young and full of teenage concerns.
Half day today meant I got the October birthday cards for #litsylove done! 😱 I‘m usually so behind in letters I don‘t get to the birthday cards which sucks! I‘ve really prioritized these past few weeks though!
I just filled out my absentee ballot to mail in and now I can read a few chapters before bed! 😍😴
My messy desk showing off my hard work!
I was up with the sunrise on my usual day to sleep in because I couldn't sleep, but I can't complain too much. I have a book and a cup of tea, and it is cool enough outside to wear my new monster socks. Not sure how I feel about this book yet. It isn't bad but it hasn't pulled me in yet. I guess I have extra time this morning to continue giving it a go!
To be honest, I got this because of how gorgeous the cover art is. The story sounds promising, but the cover is what drew me in.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a good YA fantasy. Plain good. I thought the concept of star people needing to conduct a contest to decide their next ruler to be a very fun idea. I liked the main character a lot. The writing as a whole didn‘t make me a feel anything though. It was good but not memorable. This was No. 11 on my #bookspinbingo board
Thank you soooo much @Scochrane26 !! #SeptemberSwap
Could this book and journal BE any more gorgeous?? Loving this magical golden theme!! Thank you for brightening this dark and stressful start to the school year ~I‘m so pumped to read this book and then journal to my heart‘s content!!✨✨✨
I loved this book for the SE Asian representation, the sweet friendship between Sheetal and Minal, and the strong father/daughter bond. Really liked the audiobook narrator too. Not a fan of the boyfriend or the grandma.
Intriguing world building and mythology and a gorgeous cover, but everything else about this book didn't work for me. Dialogue and character actions and thoughts fell flat for me. The romance was boring. Sorry to say, this was a thumbs down for me.
#97 of my year and this one is SO beautiful. I wish Owlcrate could redo the covers of all my books lol I‘m in need of something magical ✨ listening to Tether Me by Galleaux 🖤
I will start by saying, I'll not a fan of YA. This book might be one of the best of the genre. Teenage girl with magical teenage problems minus the angsty tone. There's a love interest, but it doesn't take over the plot. A worthwhile read.

Bingo!!!! (Row 5)
according to twitter this book isn't out yet, but has had so many pre-orders it had to have a second printing already. With this cover, I don't doubt it.
Out Aug 11
