This is the last book in the Schuyler Sisters trilogy and I have enjoyed every one of them. I loved Pepper and Annabelle‘s feisty independence, though Annabelle‘s story broke my heart.

pickI wish the book had gone on a little longer, both because I love Williams' writing and because I wanted more resolution for Pepper and Florian! At least we got Annabelle's indomitable spirit til the bitter end. #historicalfiction
pickI loved that while this book was essentially a love story, it was a real love story. Just because you've find a real and enduring love doesn't mean that everything will be easy or will work out. It had twists and turns and stumbling blocks throughout. There was no predicting the outcome right up to the last page!
11-23-21: My 118th finished book of 2021! Book 3 in the Schuyler Sisters series. Oh how I loved this book! Not many make me cry but this one did. The story of Annabelle and Stefan, lovers in 1930s Europe entangles a woman on the run, Pepper Schuyler, in 1960s America. The whole series is 5 stars! Each book better than the last. For the last two years, I‘ve read a Beatriz Williams‘ book on vacation in July. Sadly, we‘re not going anywhere this summer, but I‘m trying desperately to recreate a bit of that vacation vibe.
pickI couldn‘t love the twist at the end, or Florian, more. Perfect for book club, lazy weekend reading, or the beach.
I just found this at my library, so since I have no books of my own( 🤣🤣) it came home with me.

Ms. Williams knows how to tell a story.

I don‘t know why, but this one isn‘t as engaging for me as Williams‘ other work has been; maybe because I know the character I like best is being treated as just a placeholder. It‘s still a good read so far, set in beautiful locales, with decent characters. Really liking this #audiobook! I loved The Secret Life of Violet Grant, was meh about the middle book, and almost didn't finish the trilogy, but I'm so glad I did!
