Turn Coat
Turn Coat: A Novel of the Dresden Files | Jim Butcher
When it comes to the magical ruling body known as the White Council, Harry Dresden keeps his nose clean and his head down. For years, the Council has held a death mark over Harry's head. He's still thought of as a black sheep by some - and as a sacrificial lamb by others. But none regard him with more suspicion and disdain than Morgan, a veteran Warden with a grudge against anyone who bends the rules - like Harry. So when Morgan turns up asking for help, Harry isn't exactly eager to leap into action. Morgan has been accused of treason against the White Council - and there's only one final punishment for that crime. He's on the run, he wants his name cleared, and he needs someone with a knack for backing the underdog - like Harry. Now Harry must uncover a traitor within the Council, keep a less than agreeable Morgan under wraps, and avoid coming under scrutiny himself. And a single mistake may cost someone his head - like Harry.

I finished this one today. Another great installment in the #DresdenFiles #Series This one hit me in the feels. It‘s also the last one I have. I‘m officially caught up to where I stopped reading the series years ago. Guess I‘ll have to buy some more books. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Bookishlie Just started the first one! 12mo

This time Harry has to help Morgan, the Warden who has had a grudge against him since forever. Morgan's accused of treason. Harry has to help him clear his name. Since the White Council with a death sentence just isn't enough, there's also an ancient Native American demon after Morgan and Harry.

Wardens, the High Council, the White Court Vampires, a beast, a small army, grey men and lots of snark and puns.

I reread this recently and forgot to post. Woops!

Harry has to help Warden Morgan, of all people. Morgan still doesn't trust Harry's apprentice Molly, of course, which makes saving Morgan that much more complicated. And with a bounty out on Morgan and a skin walker after them, things are complicated enough already.

🎧 Detective Noir …

This is one of my favorites … Morgan is accused of treason against the White Counsel & you know the penalty is death! He rabbits! Strait for Harry!!

If anyone can understand Morgan‘s plight it‘s Dresden. How will he solve the mystery and save his nemesis from an obvious White Counsel conspiracy.

Molly 🤨

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Still super behind on reviews.

I love listening to this series on audio! It‘s always hard to review books in series, especially when you‘re on book 11.

I do hate how “macho” Harry is sometimes. Like “I can‘t cry because that‘s girly” or “I can‘t bitch because I got hit by a girl”, get over yourself.

Besides that, I do always enjoy these books and the troubles Harry gets into.

"She looked smarter than she did pretty."

You know what, Harry? Shut up. That is a stupid thing to say, even for an unenlightened dark ages wizard like yourself.

Ah, The Dresden Files. My favorite "guilty pleasure" series. You know exactly what to expect, and yet it always feels fresh. This one is chock full of political intrigue, good old-fashioned detective work, and the death of an old "friend". It keeps you guessing.

I managed to finish one book (Turn Coat) this month. I started four others but they all expired before I finished them. But that is okay. I am happy to say that after 28 days in the hospital, my daughter finally is home. She went into septic shock the first week in Jan and had to undergo surgery mid Jan to remove the first joint off her right thumb, ring and pinkie and just past the first joint in the right index and middle fingers.

carys14 She also lost the first joint on her left index as well as her baby toe and half the fourth toe on her left foot. BUT she is alive and has no internal organ damage. She is going through her recovery with a very positive attitude. I am so proud of how she is facing this challenge and so glad she was able to get home before the official end of the month. 7y
carys14 She will have a couple more months recovery as she works to regain her strength and learns to use her right hand again. But with her determination and positive attitude I know she is going to come out of this stronger than ever. 7y

I finally figured out how to accurately count rereads in Goodreads! Before now I was changing the finished date but that would break my number loving heart a little each time by messing up previous reading challenge counts.

It is far from intuitive but the key is to go into a different edition and choose Review This Edition. You don't have to add a actual review.

BookishMarginalia Good to know. Thanks! 7y
DebinHawaii I'm so happy to learn this! Thanks for sharing! 👍😆 7y
